How to install plastic toe guard
These toe guards work great on my Wolverine dura shock steel toe work boots. Have ruined many pair of boots without these. As far as negitive reviews not fitting boot types, My suggestion, Step 1, before putting them on the toe, apply heat from a hair dryer, this sofens the plastic making for easy forming and outlining with pen or pencil. Step 2, mark the outline before using the glue, don't make it so hot you burn your fingers,or hands, use common sense with the heat. Do not substitute, using a torch or lighter this will disfigure and the plastic. Step 3, apply 1 heavy coat of glue to both, inside toe cup and toe of boot, if you go beyond your template lines no worries, it does peel off, may stain slightly. This glue is not epoxy it is a heavy duty rubber cement. Step 4, let glue set up for 3-5+ min, however long it takes making sure glue is dry, no wet liking spots. If you see clumps of glue areas, level them out, these clumps will not dry and will not stick properly. Step 5, apply heat again to assure the guards are very warm and pliable. Sep 5, find the center of the toe of the boot at the top of sole, the guard has little nubs find the center nub, place the bottom guard tight to the top of the sole, start working the toe guard from the center to the outside, make sure the toe guard doesn't touch any where else on the glued area of the boot toe. These surfaces you prepped with glue are meant to stay for the life of your shoes and beyond. If they are not lined up properly you will have to deal, it will not come off easely or at all. Step 6, spend 5-10 min pressing down hard on the guard in every crevasse making sure the glue is sticking and holding the guard in place. Special "NOTE" If your your boots are soft toed before applying the glue stuff them with something stiff or hard, "suggestions", golf balls, wiffle balls or smaller base ball, what ever it takes, this will prevent your boot toe from caving in, making it impossible toe fit properly. Don't waste your money on the liquid application types, they are messy and not worth your time prepping. Hope this is helpful.

Does not fit Thorogood Emperor Composit toe! Amazon will not accept this item as a return.
Did not come close to fitting a Thorogood Emperor composit toe. It was entirely too big. It doesn’t bother me that it doesn’t fit, but I cannot return it because the glue that comes with it is flammable I suppose. There was no problem sending it to me, but I guess it must be way more dangerous sending it back lol.

I would recommend having lots of rubber bands to hold it in ...
Came with plenty of glue and have held up well for 6 months. I would recommend having lots of rubber bands to hold it in place while the glue sets.Update (1/26/2021). Thanks to Amazon history. I have bought a set of these for the last 3 pair of work boots I've own. I can't stress enough to the ones who struggle with the install to take your time. About to buy another $300 pair of work boots and the only reason those boots will last in my work environment are these toe savers.

Won’t stay on
Not good. Adhesive does not keep these on the boots. Unable to return

Great for flooring installers
I do flooring installation carpet to tile and this has saved my shoes boots from ripping/wearing by the toes, they just look a little funny, alittle bit of a hassle to install correctly, but once glue is dry its a permanent bond, ive had them on my boots for almost 2 months already.and using them 8-10 a day with no signs of it coming off

Adhesive is garbage
I’ve used these type of boot protectors for years, but never have been given such crappy adhesive. Glue was like water and wouldn’t hold anything, even used a wood clamp to hold it for an hour. Still nothing.

Durable, great adhesive & I recommend
My husband bought these toe guards for his one pair of steel toe work boots and has had them on his work boots for a few months now with no complaints. he liked them so much he bought a second set for another set of steel toe work boots.

Great product!
These toe caps gave my work boots new life! Remember to rough up the toe surface of the boot and cap with the sandpaper provided before applying the glue.

Dont buy, no returns and they fit terrible.
Product came fast however on getting ready to put them on my boots i noticed theres either a gap between the sole and toe or the guard will be angled all weird. You dont buy $2-400 workboots to ruin them with a poor fitting cap. Good luck!

Very big caps. Plastic very stiff. Not for metatarsal workboots.
These boot toe cap protectors could be a challenge to glue securely into place.A roll of duct tape or some other means will be necessary to apply constant pressure on the toe caps until the glue has had time to set. This done, your boots will likely last a long, long time.

Worked great. And very easy if you simply tape them.
I'm a rigger with tower cranes and go through the toes of boots in a single week. Steel toes were completely exposed and still got these to stay on. Not difficult like some people say. Use the glue, wrap overnight with electrical tape, and I covered seams with Shoo Goo the next day. Boots became waterproof again too. Been 3 weeks and holding up just fine. Better than $350 on another pair of Red Wings thats for sure.

Mediocre
Honestly not the greatest way to protect your toe. I was climbing a set of stairs when I missed one of the steps and ended up peeling up one of the corners. Also had a hard time installing it on the toe. It doesn't form easily to any boot.
