You did well.
I bought this on the 1 year anniversary of Jonghyun’s passing. It still doesn’t feel real. This album is beautiful and he deserves every ounce of recognition as an artist. The songs, the aesthetics, he worked so hard on this album and I just wanted to show my support for his work even if he isn’t here.

Wonderful
So happy I finally got my hands on this, it’s a bit bittersweet and listening to it makes me cry but I love it so much. The pictures inside are truly an homage to him and all that he was.

Farewell from an incredible artist...
December 18th 2017 is a day I'll never forget - the day we lost an incredibly gifted artist. After four years of following SHINee, and after they'd changed my life so much, the loss of Jonghyun left me and many other Shawols' broken. Although I cried on the day I first heard the news, my way of coping was to just block it out for as long as I could. I managed pretty well until I saw SHINee return to the stage in Japan, with an empty microphone in Jonghyun's place. And then of course, we had the posthumous release of Jonghyun's last album - Poet | Artist. The album itself comes with just the standard photobook, and honestly it might be the best release of Jonghyun's solo career. On the album, there are eleven tracks:1) Shinin' - A fun and appropriately upbeat title track. Both the song and the music video have strong disco vibes, with a sound that's reminiscent of many 70s / 80s pop songs. It's light, carefree and possibly the most accessible track off the album for new or casual listeners.2) Only One You Need - I can't quite choose between this and another song from the album as to which is my favourite. Only One You Need is a rousing song, with strong, clean vocals and brilliant repeated build-ups to each chorus. It makes for a really fantastic listen.3) #Hashtag - Who knew that a song about social media could be so relaxing? This album does a great job at juxtaposing calming music with much more serious lyrical content. #Hashtag is right up my street, critiquing the ridiculous and nasty gossiping you find so often on social media platforms. It also features some seriously clever lyrics from Jonghyun, drawing intelligent visual links and showing terrific use of wordplay. Honestly, this may be his smartest-written song since SHINee's Spoiler.4) Grease - I tried not to go into this album looking deliberately for songs about Jonghyun's mental health, and risk seeing too much into things. However, with Grease, you can't really avoid it. The way he sings of wanting to wipe away the grease stains, telling us to throw away our memories of him, can be uncomfortable to hear. Nonetheless, it remains an insightful and important track.5) Take The Dive - Another song that sounds like it should be uplifting, until you look at the lyrics. Personally, it sounds to me like Jonghyun is singing about his relationship with fame. He spoke of his struggles with fame, and the lyrics seem to speak of him taking the dive for his fans. With powerful vocals and an angelic sound too, it's another brilliant song.6) Sightseeing - This track sees a return to the fun, and funky sound first heard in Shinin'. Sightseeing is incredibly catchy, and I love how the lyrics about people watching are able to make the ordinary into something more special.7) Rewind - By far the most experimental and unusual track on here. With whispery vocals, lyrics that feature a variety of languages (including Japanese, English, Spanish etc.) and set against some rather eclectic music too, Rewind certainly makes for an interesting listen.8) Just For A Day - Tied with Only One You Need as my favourite track off the album. Just For A Day is perhaps one of the simpler tracks on offer here. However, that's part of the reason I enjoy it so much, because it's so effective with so little. With relatively simple backing music, a crisp, heavenly vocal performance from Jonghyun, and lyrics that talk of Jonghyun wanting to be free to feel genuinely happiness just for a day, this is again a heartbreaking, yet beautiful song.9) I'm So Curious - There's several ways of reading into this song. At first, it appears to be a quite sweet tale of possible romance, but as the song goes on, it becomes a bit more serious and the lyrics grow more sensual. Either way, the song's great with effective, subdued vocals too.10) Sentimental - Another quite soft, sweet song that talks of looking back fondly on cherished memories. Yet again, there's a clear difference between the relaxing, gentle feel of the music and the bittersweet lyrics. It's used a lot on this album, but it's effective each and every time.11) Before Our Spring - I had a feeling the album closer would end up being a ballad, and that it would most likely get the tears flowing again ... and it turns out I was right. All Before Our Spring needs is Jonghyun's emotional vocals and the accompanying piano to leave its mark. The lyrics seem self-aware that this is a farewell song, and even though it's hard to not cry listening to it, I wouldn't describe it is a sad song. It's gut-wrenching to think that Jonghyun saw death as the only escape, but the way he describes death as the Spring after the dead of Winter is so very poetic. It's hopeful if anything, almost as though it isn't the end and that we'll see him again one day.Overall, Poet | Artist is for me, Jonghyun's best solo album since his debut. I'm not just saying this because it's his final album - this is a genuinely fantastic album and deserves to be heard by as many people as possible. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't wish Jonghyun was still with us, but this is an incredibly comforting goodbye and he'll always be with SHINee and Shawols in spirit. RIP Jonghyun, you did so incredibly well...

Amazing album
As expected, the album is perfect. The title of the album could not be more perfect and fitting. It’s just too sad to know that it’s the last album we’re getting from this artist…However, he did leave an amazing musical legacy…

Bellissimo
Pienamente soddisfatta.

Amazing album
Album is perfect, arrived earlier than expected and well packaged! However there's a crease on the front cover, and some inner bindings are loose (this seems to be a manufacturing problem though). It came with no inclusions (poster, pc) so overall I'll rate it a 4. Otherwise everything is great, love this album
