Excellent.
Provides the perfect glass like finish. An ideal sized pot too, saving on waste. The odour is totally acceptable and what you would expect from this solvent based product. 10/10.

Value for money
I bought this to protect the top of a bathroom vanity unit I'm building and wanted a durable water resistant finish and this seemed like the right size tin for the job. Upon applying it does go on very thick and after 2 days it was still very tacky so I thought I had messed up but after doing some checking online there are several factors that can prevent it drying properly, applying too thick, humidity and temperature can all affect it so I cranked up the heat in the workshop and alas it is nearly fully dry and has a lovely finish. It is gloss bear in mind so it does have the wet look and as others have said it really does stink so use in a well ventilated area. For the price though it is very good varnish and a little does go a long way, I bought 2 tins but not sure I'm going to need the second one. A couple of tips I found online though suggest diluting with 10% white spirit and adding a varnish dryer additive which apparently speeds up the drying time by 25% (I haven't tried it yet but will next time). Time will tell how good it really is though.

Great Clear Varnish, But The Lid And Aroma is awful..
Yes, all these reviews are correct. The Lid is absolutely terrible. I literally had to pull it apart to open, and the edges are really thin. Looks like crumpled paper after. I would suggest that once opened, you could wrap it up in cellophane or a plastic bag to keep the air (And the smell) out, if you wish to use it for another time? Very potent smell. I will not use this indoors to varnish my newly painted statues for certain. I canโt imagine what it would do to ones health inhaling this without full ventilation. Itโs quite intoxicating, so be careful! Now - On the big positive; having used Yacht Varnishes like this before, I know that it will deliver fully on performance, unlike water based glosses that can sometimes peel and appear cloudy. And Despite the pungent smell, it is one of the few varnishes that is absolutely clear in appearance. Which is a big win with me. It is perfect also for adding glitter to create professional finishes to your work! I would recommend, but just be aware of the two negatives..

Good product, lousy Evri
Good product, but I'd urge Amazon to STOP using Evri. Product was delivered to the wrong house, even though I was standing in the porch waiting for it. This has happened countless times with Evri...

Happy with results
I bought some cheapish tablemats and coasters. However, after a few weeks of use, they started to show signs of wear from hot plates and cups - see photo 1. I thought about buying some new ones, but the reviews stated that the more expensive ones would have the same problem. So, I opted to varnish them to improve their durability and this varnish seemed like a good choice. The varnish has caused them to become darker - see photos 2 & 3. It has created a more hard-wearing and waterproof surface, so I don't mind the change in appearance as it's saved me from spending more money.
