A Comprehensive Guide for Design, Collection, Analysis and Presentation of Likert and other Rating Scale Data: Analysis of Likert Scale Data: 1 Paperback – Import, 13 October 2020

Dear Readers and Mr. Roy,I sincerely respect Mr. Roy's knowledge on the subject of Likert Scales and statistics. This book was extremely helpful to me. It is obvious that Mr. Roy knows exactly what he is talking about and my research project (dissertation) will be outstanding because of Mr. Roy's book. I am a doctoral candidate researching public high school and home school students in the U.S., using a 7-point Likert scale. (IV's public school and home school, DV academic motivation). The main reason I purchased Mr. Roy's book was to understand and be able to write my Chapter 3 dissertation section regarding the methodology that I will use to analyze the Likert Scale Data when I receive it. With the abundance of information on the internet (lots of it contradicting different scholars on what statistical tests to that should be used and how to categorize the data), Mr. Roy's book has been a light in the darkness. HOWEVER, this book is frightfully organized. There are several types of fonts used, paragraphs are spaced differently on every page, and the chart figures and tables are almost impossible to see (I would have loved to be able to see them as I needed this info desperately). Many passages in this book are repeated over and over as if cut and paste over and over. There are huge white spaces where additional information should be. I respect Mr. Roy's self-publishing but he really needs an editor. (I suspect some plagiarism, but have not had time to research this). My husband was in the printing/publishing industry and when he looked at the book he nearly had a stroke.If you need this info--and many beginner statistics students will--buy this book!!!! If you can handle all of the flaws that I mention just go ahead and purchase it. Obviously, if this kind of stuff drives you crazy I would suggest that you look elsewhere for this information.I will be contacting Mr. Roy personally because I value and respect him as a fellow social scientist. I feel I owe him that much. If he hires an editor, I have no doubt that he could charge ten times more for this book. (it is currently $19.99)Very SincerelyMelody Herb, MBA
