Remain Secure -- CO is a Killer
This is the fourth unit I've purchased. They are so reliable that I sometimes forget to test them. They have to be replaced, but have an active life of around six years. The cost is about £33, not a lot if you know the alarm is loud enough to give you enough warning to turn off faulty appliances.Replacement units are very easy to fit requiring only a small screwdriver. Remove the faulty unit from the base and replace it with the new unit. The original base does not have to be removed or disconneted. Only safety advice is disconnect the power before replacing unit and remember to test the new unit. I would recommend the BRK CO Alarm without hesitation.

This is the 3rd BRK Dicon CO850Mi Carbon Monoxide Detector mains connected (plug in) that I have purchased in the last 12 years. In the instructions they tell you that the system lasts for 6 years then needs to be replaced. The last 2 lasted to within 2/3 days of the 6 year deadline. I can't praise them enough, it gives you peace of mind. I'm very happy with my purchase and when this one needs replacing if they are still being made I will buy another one.

Sooo Easy to fit
Bought this item as replacement for the one I already had as it was 7 years old and had packed in.I almost got Carbon Monoxide poisoning just over 7 years ago and cannot express the importance of having a hard wired detector fitted.As this was the same model no as my original one all I had to do was undo 2 small screws on the existing unit,pull out the head of unit and pop in the new one.(I am a Female by the way)All in all I am very happy with this item as I know that should I ever have a problem with my heating system this detector will almost certainly pick up any fumes that may be escaping from the boiler.
