SultansPlain Chocolate Covered Stem Ginger 500 Gram Bag (1/2 Kilo)

There is not too much chocolate coating unlike many makes which over power the ginger ,and no wasteful fancy packaging, so it’s really great . Unfortunately very difficult to resist eating more . But the price has now suddenly risen horrifically so unfortunately no more buying for me

I do like chocolate ginger but often despair at the silly prices people want for small boxes. So finding this seemed like something of a god-send. The price was sufficiently low that I decided to take a punt and see what it turned out to be.It arrived in a box - the ginger was in a zip-loc bag inside the box. No problem there, it was cheap and the text clearly said I'd be getting a bag, but it was still a bit of a surprise to see the packaging quite so basic. I'd planned to split it - keep some for me and give some as a Christmas present - so I knew I'd need a more suitable container.The pieces are all about the same size. They taste nice but I'd prefer them to have a bit more ginger. That said I had planned to restock, having given the majority of it away as a Christmas present because the only suitable container I found to repackage it took up more of the bag than I had expected.So I came back to Amazon to buy some more, only to find the price went from £8.85 to £15.90 for the same quantity, within the space of a fortnight. At £9 I'd have dived on some more, at £16 I'll hold back.

I always like the quality of the ingredients.

I have bought this product several times and always been pleased but this time the chocolate is not up to standard. The chocolate is milk not plain, this chocolate is sweet with extra sugar mixed in with the chocolate dust that covers the product. It has been a great disappointment and will no be ordered again and no recommendations given .

I realised I needed to amend this review. It looks like I was very unfortunate with the first few chocolates that I had as the ginger was very fibrous and not very nice at all. However, as a waste not, want not sort of person, I persisted with them and after my disappointment at the start did not actually encounter any more really fibrous chocolates. As time went on I actually enjoyed consuming them.

We have bought these sweets twice and thoroughly enjoyed every piece of ginger. The packaging is just a bag and the contents don't look beautiful when you receive them but do not be deceived. These are truly delicious sweets. They are just the right heat of ginger and sweetness of chocolate.They are a firm favourite.

Oh yum must stop buying

Very tasty and never lasted long out of a fridge container. Lots of visiting family members would tuck in, its not just me that craves ginger.
