Q: Does this feeder work well for a water feeder, as well?

I don’t think so, but I’ve never tried.

Q: Can you use this on a cage door that swings open and will it work for an African Grey?

I have it mounted on a door that swings open, however it’ll really only work if that door can swing open relatively flush/flat. We have the larger model, which is supposed to fit an African Grey, however I think it’d just be too small for that sized bird to be a comfortable experience.

Q: Can you remove the outer hooks without compromising the feeder?

Don’t think so. You can buy and see if you can remove them, if not, just return it. Kohl’s does quick returns

Q: Will this hold water?

I don’t think so, but have never tried.
