I bought this to record Nintendo Switch gameplay. I wasn't expecting the picture quality of the recordings to be so good and the framerate to look so smooth because of the price but it does. It's obviously not going to look as good as using an Elgato capture card but it still looks really good.. I ran in to some issues setting it up tho. At first, the audio quality was terrible but I found a fix online by just changing a couple of sound settings on my computer and it's fine now. I also ran in to an issue with it saying something like Copy protected content in OBS but I found a fix for that too. I noticed later on that there was crackling/static in the audio but I found a fix online for that too. It was a lot of messing about to get it set up right but I've got no problems now.I was slightly worried about it not being able to run properly because I haven't got a dedicated graphics card and all that on my laptop. It's just for general use but the HDMI passthrough in the capture card takes a lot of the strain of the CPU when recording. It was only at about 9% while recording. I didn't notice any stutters in the recordings or anything like that. It works great. I did add 16 gig of ram to my laptop, that probably helped, idk.If you're worried about buying this with a low end PC, I wouldn't be. It's a great budget capture card.

This is the first capture card to have the necessary 4k120 passthrough to allow for recording your XBox Series X/S or PS5 while playing games using both VRR and 120hz modes. The card also supports HDR recording though the format is P010(HDR) which is a format I was totally unfamiliar with and so it took em a while to actually capture videos without them looking washed out.The pros for this device is that it just works. OBS supported it without any issues though you need to make sure that your PC has a suitable USC C port available. The manual says that you need a USB C 3.2 port though I think mine is a 3.1 port and I had no issues with recording videos. Oddly while the USB C 3.1 port worked fine on my PC. The same type of port on a Mac did not allow me to use 4k60 recording. So your mileage may vary if you are using something lower than the recommended 3.2 port.The cons are that it was surprisingly difficult to find the Avermedia software to control the lighting on the device and adjust it's settings. Instead of downloading the version at the bottom of the product page you should in fact click the show more link and select the newest versions from there. Why Avermedia don't ensure the correct link is on the product page is a mystery.Overall this is a great product and I look forward to seeing if Elgato create a response to this. I am also looking forward to Avermedia updating their stand alone product (the one that records to sd cards directly) with the new HDMI 2.1 capability. I suspect I would happily get that version instead of this one if it had been available. Like many of you. I prefer to just play and record the footage without having to check a PC, set up OBS etc etc. Then transfer the data to something like Black Magick for editing and upload.Conclusion. Is this device worth the money. Yes with one exception. Currently there is zero support for ultra wide formats so if you happen to have an ultrawide display. Then steer clear until the promised support for such displays is actually available. Although Avermedia have promised they will support these displays. A promise if worth very little when your hard earned money is involved.

Excellent work! I succeeded in two laptops recording and gaming, that just much more better than one computer, high bps, good hardware usage, and minimizing size for travel!Only problem is that the type-A to USB-B cable is not work very stable. Also don’t try to use the software of them. Just rubbish. Employ OBS as well, they recommend less hardware!2500U+Vega 8 for 1080P30fps gaming, H265 could give 30Mbps mp4 recording!

Super easy to use, just plug it in and load up OBS. It has very low latency so you can use it to play games if you want to display your switch on your PC monitor for example, whilst still using your pc. The only way I could even notice any latency was when I compared it side by side to the switch! Even then, it was only barely noticeable. It can capture at 1080p60fps, which is more than enough for most people, and also at quite a cheap price point! Overall quite happy with this so far, especially for the money.

I decided to get this as I don't own a laptop/PC and wanted to record PC free and this came highly recommended. I use this to record Nintendo Switch and eventually Playstation games.The unit itself feels solid and well made. It was packaged well, came with short HDMI cable, USB cable to power the unit and a male to male 3.5mm cable. I have added a 512GB SD card to capture the footage.I have only tested on the Nintendo Switch so far and it works as per the instructions. Although you can do PC free recording you do however need a PC/laptop initially to update the firmware. Took about 10-15mins once I figured out what I was doing.Unit itself is smallish and can be left beside the TV with your other peripherals. Mine is powered by the TV USB port so every time my TV is on the unit is powered on indicated by the red RGB light. This can be annoying for some so I would suggest as alternative power method e.g Playstation USB port. You do want to keep it in sight so when it is being used you can keep an eye on the RGB light to ensure recording is taking place. Simple process, just press the RGB switch down until red light is pulsing indicating it is recording.Extra info. My set-up is currently linked to the Nintendo Switch. I have a 3.5mm mic plugged into the unit with an extra long cable to place near me while I sit on the sofa and play. The HDMI from the Switch to the TV has been unplugged from the TV and into this unit due to how my set-up has been wired.

So far so good, I can play and stream 4k120fps with my ps5 and Xbox series X no problem, loving it 😃

Eu usava uma placa de captura daquelas de 50 reais. Pra mim foi um upgrade absurdo, a qualidade das minhas lives melhoraram muito. Recomendo a compra aqui na amazon, a placa chegou em 7 dias; foram 7 dias antes do prazo que eles estipularam 🤝

Straight out of the box and streaming right away with my PS5 and Switch, and the stream quality is in 1080p at 60 fps with my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER. This capture card works perfectly and is very affordable.

Não conhecia a placa. A Intenção era simplesmente, para gravar jogos (Ps5, Xboxs e outros). Demorei para testar o produto, por atraso na entrega de um SDcard (outra loja). A principio achei que algo estava errado, pois, a imagem do game (no console) não aparecia. pesquisando, descobri algo sobre "trava DHCP" já estou adquirindo um Splitter. Com isso posso até gravar da tv à cabo (o que também têm a trava). Não foi preciso entrar em contato com o vendedor. Mas, mesmo assim a loja fez contato (Ezequiel) via whatsapp. Recomendo o produto e o parceiro da AMAZON. PS: Por ser produto importado e vir lacrado. Considere o produto vir meio solto dentro da caixa (falha do fabricante, quanto a fragilidade no acondicionamento da embalagem original). Produto, Amazon e a Octo Shop...recomendados.
