Product Description Long-awaited sequel to the popular 1992 thriller starring Sharon Stone. Dr. Michael Glass (David Morrissey), a respected London criminal psychiatrist, is brought in by Scotland Yard detective Roy Washburn (David Thewlis) to perform a psychiatric profile and evaluation of novelist Catherine Tramell (Stone) following the mysterious death of a top sports star (Stan Collymore). Physically drawn to Tramell and mentally intrigued by her, Glass is quickly sucked into her web of lies and seduction. desertcart.co.uk Review Despite its inevitable fate as a critically reviled box-office flop, Basic Instinct 2 sure has a funny way of holding your attention. It's not just Sharon Stone's trash-talk and occasional nudity that keeps you watching, but also the way she gamely earns every cent of her $14 million paycheck, vamping like a real pro in her second outing as mystery novelist and alleged serial killer Catherine Tramell. Now living in London, Catherine sets her lethal sights on Michael Glass (David Morrissey), the control-freak psychiatrist assigned to evaluate her as a risk-addicted suspect in the "accidental" killing of a star soccer player. Turns out Catherine's just getting started (or is she?), and that's bad news for Glass's ex-wife, a tabloid journalist, and the Scotland Yard detective (David Thewlis) who's desperate to put Catherine in jail. With plenty of sex, murder and salacious dialogue, BI2 is certainly never boring, especially with the morbid fascination of seeing the once formidable Stone torpedo her career in a sequel that took 14 years (and countless drafts of screenplays and at least one high-profile lawsuit) to bring to the screen. She's still impressively hot at age 47, prompting critic Roger Ebert to observe, "the Catherine Tramell role cannot be played well, but Sharon Stone can play it badly better than any other actress alive." So, while this ill-fated sequel falls just short of being a guilty pleasure (if only because Morrissey is no match for Michael Douglas in the 1992 original), it's enjoyably absurd and slickly produced, and the hot-tub scene is guaranteed to wear out the freeze-frame function on a lot of DVD players. For some viewers, that's reason enough for multiple viewings.-- Jeff Shannon Review: Mr - Excellent movie Review: WHATCHOUT FOR THE ICEPICK! - The Sequel from 2006 gets SO much hate, but to ME - this is better than the original 🙂 I have always loved this one more than the original. I HAD to get the UNCUT VERSION because it is LESS rushed than the Standard Cut you can see on TV. This is a replacement for my original DVD getting scratches after dropping it on the floor 😅 Delivery date 24/2/22.

Not that bad basically.
The main problem with this film was going to be trying to live up to the first which is a classic steamy thriller. This had too much to live up to in comparison but it still passes as an ok thriller. Not quite as steamy as the first, but there is some sexual tension between Stone and the detective. There are a few sex scenes but nothing different from most films of this type. Stone does still look very sultry. The story is ok and as it progresses more plot twists come up with different suspects with various good reasons, could be the killer. By the end of the film you could be left wondering who was the killer and who used who as a cover up story. Overall better than a lot of thrillers but far from a classic like the first one. 6/10

Ludicrous but all good fun
It took a long time coming but thank goodness for Basic Instinct 2. This film is basically rollicking good fun. The plot is ludicrous beyond belief but that is what makes this film so watchable. It all starts off with a high speed car drive in a traffic-free London (traffic-free London - can you believe that?) and then proceeds to become a psychological thriller with plenty of psycho but not much logical. The plot has more twists and turns than a twisty thing as psychoanalyst Michael Glass (David Morrissey) ultimately loses his mind to Sharon Stone's Catherine Tramell, the hot blond novelist with the hot body and the hot-tub. If that really is a natural Sharon Stone, then it is no wonder that David Morrissey looks stunned most of the time. It is a great pity that there is no UK Blu-ray with which to enhance my viewing enjoyment of Sharon Stone in the buff. The Uncut DVD has a quoted run time of 109 minutes and aspect ratio of 2.40:1. Sound options are Dolby stereo and 5.1. Extras include deleted scenes and alternate ending, commentaries and a making-of featurette.

Switch Brain Off And Enjoy !
Sharron Stone is in it , what's not to like ! I really enjoyed this edgy thriller lots of blood, sex and twists and turns to keep you guessing. Sharron Stone appears to be enjoying herself sending her psychiatrist slowly over the edge. Stan Collymore 's film career sinks without a trace ! Only minor gripe is that no matter how I tried I could not get rid of the subtitles off the screen. However it plays in English and the picture is very good and clear and Sharron Stone looks very sexy and has some very nice clothes which to show her body off at its best.

A film and a story that is tugging at our basic instincts!
Great movie, Sharon stone is brilliant again and a tour the force; she puts to shame many actors in handling the raw passion of the story within the two movies. Basic instinct either 1 or 2 has divided opinion but if we are all honest it's our raw base instincts that these film expose that is unsettling to us so for me the filmmakers have delivered a film that questions our thoughts & says is what we see who we really are?

One of the worst sequels ever
The original Basic Instinct was a great film, but this sorry sequel suffers by comparison. In fact, even as a stand - alone piece of cinema it is rubbish. This time out, Sharon Stone's character is up to her old shenanigans in London, and has her sights set on the excellent David Morrissey, who is wasted here. Lazy script, cringe-worthy dialogue, and very unsexy sexiness aside, the biggest problem here is that Sharon Stone is simply too old to be playing a seductress, even a cougarish one. Sure, she looks amazing for 50, but that still makes her 50, so it's all relative. Seeing someone old enough to be a grandmother frolic about in the buff is embarrassing and awkward, and to see her wearing clothes designed for a woman three decades younger is just depressing. Sharon obviously made this film for one reason -the money. Let's face it, in the few years before BI2, her career hadn't exactly been on fire; she'd been relegated to mostly playing second female lead, which is only one step away from guest starring on NCIS. For those who saw the original and liked it, I would urge you to stay well clear of this 'erotic thriller', which is neither sexy or thrilling. What it is, is the movie equivalent of a once great boxer, now fat and old, stepping back into the ring when he's the only once who doesn't know he's past it.

I love all of Sharon Stones Films she is exciting to watch, and almost makes you feel your in the film with her, in all her films she does, and just seems to get better as time goes by,second film was done on a budget not like the Verhoven iSt outing but Sharon pulls it off as always very enjoyable film, Blu Ray was very good and was delivered very quickly very good service

Basic Instinct 2 is an intriguing movie that has more depth if you are able to understand the story on some level and how it portrays society. It exposes psychiatry as the fake science that it really is and a strong female character who is guided by her instincts is the chief justice. Sharon Stone does a great job with this character. I don't know anyone else who could have been so believable in this role. This movie didn't go so well in terms of making money in the box office. That just highlights how I see this movie - remember who prints the money you pay your movie tickets with. Psychiatry is sometimes used as a weapon against citizens making too much noise about things embarrassing others. I would like to leave you with a thought - There are many levels and aspects of truth and good instincts always trump second hand knowledge.

An interesting sequel to the original film. The plot is even more convoluted than the original. Sharon Stone is her alluring self and we get somewhat longer glimpses of her assets. A high level of eroticism but actually not really explicit. Good to watch a second time to unravel the plot..

Und wie. Deshalb kann ich die zum Teil miesen Bewertungen überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Geschweige denn teilen. " Wissen Sie, was mir an Ihnen gefällt? :-) Also ein supergeiler Film! " Uaaahh! Lauflänge: 107 Minuten ( o. Abspann ) ! Extras: - Making of= 20.45 Minuten! - Pressekonferenz= 9.30 Minuten! - Blick hinter die Kulissen= 6.54 Minuten! - Darstellerinfos, Audiokommentar, Trailershow, Der besondere Filmtipp, DVD Empfehlung! FÜNF STERNE, die wissen, wo es lang geht!
