Thomas toys rule!
Its fun, gose well with all Thomas train sets. You got to keep the peices together for if you mix them up with other sets it will take time to find them when you want to build it again. We keep it in a basket with the plans to build it. Once built the trains run awesome on it even the motorized ones. Its fun to give those troublsome trucks some trouble! Teaching our son lessons on gravaty is also fun.

HORRIBLE TOY & TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
Wish I had read the other bad reviews on this item before I too purchased my Rheneas and the Rollercoaster set. I thought that it would be like the Racing Down the Rails set (obviously the new and improved version of this totally inept Rheneas model) in which the curve pieces actually interlock into the risers. I have two of the latter and they work perfectly. So I was incredibly frustrated to find that the Rheneas and the Rollercoaster set is so poorly engineered. It takes forever to carefully set up the tracks on the risers, once arranged they are often uneven when interlocked, and then once you have everything in place and try to play with it they fall apart with the slightest bump. My 3 year old son and I have a lot of Thomas railway sets that we love, but this set is the most frustrating waste of money and time I have ever come across. Save your money and DO NOT BUY THIS THOMAS SET! Take your money and invest it instead in the Racing Down the Rails set which is what this set should have been in the first placeThomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Race Down The Rails Playset.

Great for children over 6
A great toy for the older engineer. My 8 year old daughter loves this set. It took her 15 minutes to put together. She really had to think of where to place the supports or the train tracks would fall down. A real thinking train set. I do not recommend this for young children since my 4 year old played with it for about 15 minutes and then it fell apart. She could not figure out how to fix it and walked away. I asked my 8 year old to rate it and she said 5 stars, but she changed her mind to 4 stars since she said it falls apart.

Many hours of enjoyment for our 4 year-old
After seeing the negative review this item received, and knowing how much my son has played with his Rheneas & the Roller Coaster set, I thought I'd add a review. We gave this item to our 4 year-old son for Christmas, and he frequently includes it in his Thomas layouts. He spends many hours playing with his Thomas & Brio trains, including this roller coaster set. He loves both trains and roller coasters, so it is a great fit. My husband set it up for our son initially, but he can do it himself now and does not usually knock it over (although sometimes the cats do!). If it gets bumped and a portion of the track is no longer connected, he can easily fit it back together. Our son, who will be 5 soon, designs very elaborate layouts, sketching them on paper, and then he & his Dad go to work making his vision a reality! We have been very happy with this product.

Great Concept poor execution......
Sometimes i think i get more excited about certain destinations then my boys do, In this case i love destinations based on the stories we read and watch on tv. I agree with some reviewers that this destination is poorly thought out, i suppose they think we all nail or glue or tracks down like there demo tables. They now have a new semi-version called Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway- Race Down The Rails Playset. I have not owned this version but it does appear handled the problem of the tracks falling of the risers.

Save Your Money!!!!
My son who loves Thomas the Tank Engine, and has a bunch of Thomas sets now including this Waste Of Money. I paid a lil over $100 for this item and after 30 min or so of putting this Unstable mess together my son had it trashed within seconds so unless you feel like buying tons of Liquid Nails to keep this ROLLERCOASTER set Together Save Your Money, it is a toy that will probably frustrate most children as it did my son. A nice alternative is the Thomas Bolder Mountain which is a lil more stable.Hope this Helps!!!!!THUMBS DOWN
