Stainless Steel and 18 gauge cylinder wall
Inside diameter of the cylinder is 5.5 inches so the final cooked burger will be a little more than 4" across, which is perfect for the big box warehouse store restaurant style hamburger buns that are 4" across. Other smaller burger presses end up making patties that cook down too small, or are too thick to start with.The entire assembly is stainless steel and passes the magnet test, except for the spring. The spring is not stainless, and should be dried when washed to prevent rusting. The cylinder wall is 18 gauge.The plunger and handle assembly work well, but I find that the entire process works best if I ... 1) Start with something that looks like a meatball 2) Smash it with the press 3) Pick up the press 4) Even out the meat patty 5) Smash with the press a second timeThis will give you uniform beef patties, which cook evenly, especially if you sear them.The included 100 baking sheets are about the same size as the patty, so it is hard to get them off of the hamburger patties when throwing them on a hot BBQ grill. It would have been better if they were square shaped and that would have allowed for corners to easily grab.PRO Tip #1: Press your hamburger patties at least 1 hour ahead of time and put them in the refrigerator or even the freezer. Why? Cooling the meet down to 40 degrees will cause the fat in the meat to congeal and the patty will cling together. Smashing the meat in this press creates friction and warms up the protein and fat. This causes the rendered fat in beef to liquify... It only takes a little of the fat to liquify to have the whole thing crumble.Pro Tip #2: The inside of the cylinder has measurement markings, but use a scale and weigh out your hamburger meat. The perfect giant burger press.
This works great and presses a perfect burger everytime. Makes great smashburgers or just perfect patties and releases them easily without any issues. It is easily cleaned too.. it is worth every penny!

Practice Practice Practice
Getting the correct amount of hamburger in press is a learning experience.However I finally found a container I could fill to the right amount of hamburger, to get the thicknessI wanted. I prefer about 1/4" thickness, found measurements in interior of press useless. (maybe just me)Read a review that said to use cooking spray in interior and I agree. Used patty paper to separate hamburgers in freezer I got 4" round, that was a mistake next time I'll get 5"round.Cleaning of press done in dishwasher easy to disassemble and reassemble no problem there.All things considered after finding how to get right amount of hamburger in press for my 1/4" thickness.I really recommend, great quality will last forever.

Best ever
Press is quality stainless and makes burgers with ease. Can put in dishwasher and comes out spotless. So much easier to use than those old plastic ones. Worth the extra cost.

EXCELLENT BURGER PRESS
A very solidly made product. With just a slow, steady press perfect burgers are formed. Also it easily disassembles (the handle/press "button" unscrews from the push rod) to enable a thorough cleaning.

Not truly adjusting
Makes a good shaped burger. Very large size, almost to big. It is not truly adjustable only by eye no set adjustment

Easy
I like 1/3 lb burgers but my older burger press made a smaller diameter patty that didn't fit the buns very well. This burger press does the trick nicely.

Fantastic Product
The is a great product to have in your home. As a Chef that will give you a consistent formed burger if you scale the weight of your burger. It has a thickness measuring guide on the side. It's also a great burger press for anyone who like to grind your own burgers and love to see a per fickly shaped burger.

Finally
Wham bam slam patties are done. Perfect size once cooked. I made 8 pounds of 4.6 ounce patties and this made it fly by. With precut parchment paper this was a game changer in my patty making life. Love it. I looked at many patty makers and am glad I went for this one. Worth it

Makes very uniform burger, look store bought.
It would be nice to have adjustable thickness, rather than based on the amount of hamburger you grab with your hand.
