Hercules BS100B Music Stand with EZ Desk, Glide and Angle Roller

I really like this stand.I've been using other compact folding stands for a while but have always been unimpressed by their lack of stability, fragility, and fiddliness to unfold/fold.The Hercules EZ-Glide does exactly what it says on the tin. It is robust, and is by far the quickest and easiest stand to unfold/adjust and fold of any stand I have ever used and has a very sturdy table, with none of the fiddly bi-folding arms normally used on a folding stand.It easily adjusts to any required height by simply pulling the top - no screws to loosen and re-tighten. Incidentally, it adjusts more than high enough for me to play standing, and I'm 6'3".The table section is the optimized for 2xA4 music sheets but can fit all sizes with no problems due to the length of the arms. The arms are also great for pegging music to for out door gigs.The only criticisms I've heard of this stand are:1/ Some people find the telescopic section drops under weight of music - until I informed them there is a tensioning screw at the bottom of the tube to adjust the resistance.2/ It doesn't fold up small enough to fit in, for example, a trumpet case with the instrument - however I bought the most excellent Hercules Stand Bag which is brilliant, and has room to stuff a water bottle in with the stand.All in all, for a mid-priced stand I think this is an excellent all purpose folding stand.

I chose this particular music stand because I had already purchased a most impressive Hercules alto sax stand, and reckoned that I couldn't go far wrong with this...and I was right!Like the alto stand, it's a couple of quid more expensive than the cheapest stands, but it is well worth it. The build quality is outstanding, and it's just nice to have a music stand which does the job it's intended to do for longer than 5 minutes. (without falling over, ejecting music for no good reason, refusing to face the proper direction without leaning at a funny angle, and mysteriously shedding screws when nobody is looking)It's brilliant! The height adjustment mechanism works really well, and by adjusting the tension screw, it can support the heftiest of folders (without slipping downwards).Yes, it doesn't fold down quite as small as some, but it's a compromise well worth making. Well worth the money, would highly recommend it to others. The next time your thinking about buying a spindly stand because your previous spindly stand collapsed into a pile of scrap at your feet, just think, you could have bought just the one of these!!

No real instructions provided so had to look them up. Locking mechanism to keep the stand at a set height doesn’t work so the shaft / desk keeps falling down. Hercules’ own website only useful for US customers. The form for non-US customers doesn’t work. Disappointing.

A quality piece of kit, being a serious amateur musician, I've suffered bad stands for many years. This is worth the outlay. Good finish, very rugged and practical. This would hold up the RMS Queen Mary

If you want a cheap stand that falls apart after a few uses, then don't buy this one. It is so well made, easy to use, and so much better than the usual rubbish on offer.

So far so good. Like most Hercules products its very well constructed and supports heavy music books as well as sheet music. the additional spring clips holding pages open. The novel tension adjuster controlling the height takes some getting used to and will be interesting to see how long it lasts. Sometimes a simple screw in lock can work better. However for now all is well and pleased with my purchase

this only came in a cardboard box have always had bags with them before, at that price expected a bag, does not fold as small as the others so cannont use other bags, dissapointing for the price.

This is the second one of these I've purchased. The first one lasted less than 2 yrs as the rivets holding the feet to the central pole sheared off. I bought another one and in no time at all it wouldn't stay up when raised to a standing position. I sent it back and was refunded. So in my opinion if you want a heavy duty stand that gets used a lot, don't buy this one. It's not as herculean as it makes out! My Stagg product is still going strong after 10 years.
