Q: You who used both Yerba Mate and this Product: which do you prefer and why?

I live in the US, but I am from Argentina (a country where mate is traditionally drank), so I would like to offer an accurate response. "Yerba Mate" is the mate herb, the herb plant you make the mate drink with. To say, "Yerba Mate vs this product," is like as if to say "tea vs Twinings." Guayaki is a brand of yerba mate, a brand started by an company based in the US and made to market to mostly an American market. This brand is not popular in Argentina, nor other countries where mate is traditionally drank, such as Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, or Brazil. This yerba mate offers the "organic" and "environmentally conscious" option to the American market...options that are in higher demand in the US than they are in the Latin American market. Guayaki Yerba Mate is a fine tasting mate. And if the organic part is very important to you, then this is a good choice of yerba mate. If you want to try a yerba that is both organic and sold by a Latin American company, try the brands: Amanda (Argentina), Pajarito (Paraguay), Kraus (Argentina). They might be hard to find in the US though. Also, mate in tea bags is called "mate cocido," which means boiled mate. This is drank in Latin American countries, but not as common as the mate drink made from the loose yerba mate leaf in a gourd. A mate cocido made from tea bags will produce a milder flavor than a mate made with the loose yerba mate in a mate gourd.

It's harvested beneath the rainforest canopy. If you check the Guayaki website they claim that it has a negative carbon footprint.

Q: Does this product make you get "high"

I have never taken it as a drug.It affects you like a caffeinated drink would typically do. I'm pretty sure this won't get you high.
