Elmer's Colours (English-Polish) Board book – Picture Book, 12 Aug. 2010

As always books on Elmer the elephant are a delight to read to children. Our 19 month old little body loves the Elmer series and this one is another hit. It is a board book that is a good introduction to colours. The first page lists all the colours and then the rest of the book provides everyday examples where each colour can be found. For example green and blue? Grass and the sky - simple, but effective. Our little boy asks us to read this book often and we feel that this reinforces the colours. He may not be able to directly identify the colours at present but it steals a march for the future, by laying down a good foundation.

Very simple sentences about colours, not exciting to read out but still good for babies to try out.

When it arrived the actual book was not in brilliant condition, but the content was great. My pre school children will love it

I have very mixed feelings about this book. The pictures are beautiful. However, I wish I read the review of the English version here on Amazon before I decided to buy it. The text about colours reads quite oddly, e.g."White is a snowman" and in Polish "Bialy jest balwan". It's like Yoda-speak, all backwards!

I expected this book to be polish/English based on my search results, however it turned out to be English/somalie! Amazon were excellent in giving me a refund immediately though. Impressive customer service.

My wife is Polish, so we love these books for our 2 year old daughter. She is learning Polish and English, and these books are great for her to learn both languages. We read them to her as often as we can.

I bought this for my nephew and I know he will love it. It is not super advanced but good for toddlers.
