I wish I would’ve known about this product sooner! Since using an Ax is scary to useI would have bought this a few years ago. I love this because it works great, very sturdyand easy to use.

What I like about this item is it’s portable and appears to be very durable . Used it to bust up some kindling and it works really well. It keeps your hands away from the wedge and at a safe distance. Would definitely buy again

It has good build quality, and the protective cover is a nice touch. It is easy to use and works as described. It's great for splitting wood for kindling. My only con is that I wish it had a sharper edge; it struggled with harder wood logs. Other than that, I would recommend this product.

I live off the grid, by myself, on top of a mountain in Yosimite. I need expedition grade gear that’s never gives up. 4 months and 10 Chords of wood later still working like a charm. Decent steel and clean welds. Splits Tripple Seasoned Black Oak no problem. Ugliest grain structure ever. Seems well thought out. SOLID Purchase.Pro Tips:1.) When using it, or Mounting it keep in mind the upper rim is supported by 2 posts. The wood Ejects out the sides instead of at your toes if you stand with the posts at 12 O’Clock and 6 O’Clock2.) DON’T try to smash it through in one stroke if you want to keep the flesh on your shins. Give it One Solid TAP to Set it. After that one or 2 more to split itRecommendation: Grab a file or a block of wood and some sand paper and take the 10 minutes to give it an edge every 2 cords of oak or so. It splits 2-3 times as easy.

Very sturdy when mounted to a base. Works quickly, very well and makes a challenging job very easy and even fun! Design functions very well with good assembly directions. Great for making kindling also.

I will say this, it is built well. And that is about all the good I can say about it. I could not get it to split wood for the life of me. My old hatchet, which I have actually nearly cut 2 fingers off with, splits wood better and quicker than this thing. I could not get it to split simple 2x4's. I would put them on there, hit is with a 5 lb sledge hammer and all it would do was leave an indent on the wood. If the wood already had a natural split it might split after repeated poundings. It was a waste of my money.

This is actually the 2nd time I’ve purchased this product. I’ve owned one for a few years and use it daily throughout the cold months. It is so convenient. We have it screwed into a large log to raise it off the ground. We bought a second one for our friends who just installed a wood stove.

I have a bad back, so swinging an axe to split wood doesn't work for me anymore. We use an outdoor pizza oven and burn hardwoods like oak, almond and madrone. I looked at a number of these splitters and chose Greener because it looked very sturdy, the opening is wide enough for the logs I need to split, and it is open on 2 sides. I watched videos for splitters that have rings or supports on 4 sides, it looked to me that split wood could get stuck inside the splitter. The blade is not sharp, so it is safe to leave out. Mine is bolted to a stump to elevate it to make it easier to reach. I am amazed at how little effort it takes to split wood! Definitely recommended!
