12" Meat Thermometer for Cooking Instant Read Long Stem Waterproof Stainless Steel Kitchen Thermometer for Deep Frying Candy Turkey BBQ Grill

I bought the 12" version. It was nearly dead-on accurate out of the box. To calibrate, I simply clipped the stem to the side of a 1.5 quart sauce pan and boiled some water. Water boils at 212 degrees F (100 C), and the thermometer's pointer indicated slightly higher. So I used a 10mm box wrench to slightly rotate the nut behind the dial until the pointer registered 212 F (100 C). The dial's tick marks are too small be 100% accurate, but I'm confident that "close" will do.Side note: I've been making my own yogurt for years. My yogurt-maker kit included a thermometer with just two markings, maximum and minimum temperatures for adding the yogurt starter to the boiled milk; if the milk is too hot or too cold, the starter won't activate.I've long wanted to know what those two temperatures are, so while calibrating my new long-stem thermometer I placed the yogurt thermometer in the boiled water. As the water temperature fell, I noted the new thermometer's reading at the "yogurt maximum" and "yogurt minimum" temps. It was longer than I thought but that won't be a problem. I like that it has a movable lever that you can have it pointing to the temp you want. What I don't like is the actual print of the temperatures is smaller than I wanted. I needed enlarged print. But, it works

It was just what I ordered and this is my 2nd 1 of these. I would have given 5 Stars but when it got here it had a small bend in the stem, just cosmetic, works great 👍.

The numbers are a bit tiny, and hard to visualize accurately in most lighting. Have to have full overhead lighting to see temperatures. However, once you get that it has done its jo. So I like what I have

The temperature works on this and it is very accurate. I checked it against my other ones and they were normally about the same or maybe only one degree off. The only reason I gave this a four-star instead of a five star is because the clip is not very sturdy and it falls when it’s in the pot so you have to kind of prop it up

I tried it out just for kicks on my steaks that were being fried up in my Cast Iron skillet.I used a temperature chart for various steak cooks and I must say that my steak turned out EXACTLY like I wanted.Definately a.neede

I liked that it does not use any batteries however was not made aware it was shipped from USA so now what do I do to return it as it does not work at all?
