The fit is as shown in the photos. The back has some stretch. This will look nice alone or with a jacket - day-to-night wear easily. I wish they had more patterns available. I ordered this in gray, brown, and pinstripe. The stretch at the neck also prevents the tension that can happen after wearing a halter top all day. I recommend this to anyone looking for a smart look that is versatile through the seasons.

I wish it had fit right but the elastic in the back pulled at it oddly so the front buttons gapped.

I should have gone a size up but this is me not taking account my typical issues with these types of clothes and the way I'm built not so much the manufacturer's mistake in sizing. I took a star away because while it was a little small I could still get the gist of how it fit it was just a bit snug to move in without worry of it ripping if I bent a certain way. So the halter design is alright but the elastic can rub the neck the wrong way and just cause an issue there. There was a little separation of buttons but that's nothing new for me with anything that buttons up. I should have known but I wanted to try, especially since I wanted to try and maybe see how this looked unbuttoned but I was thinking of a more conventional vest not a halter one. All in all if the sizing works out for you this could look fantastic and if you're wearing it over another shirt, you probably wouldn't have issues with the halter either.

Consider going up a size for this, especially if you're in the top half of the size range for the smaller size. This should have fit me perfectly based on the size chart, with not a lot of room to spare, but still should have *fit*, but it didn't. I can get in it, but not *wear* it - and I'm not one who's afraid of a body skimming garment. This is uncomfortably tight, as in physically, and it won't settle right. There's also a button gap.I would have loved to be able to wear it, though, because it's quite nice. The red is vibrant but not ridiculous, the construction is solid, and the fabric is excellent - insofar as synthetics go, it's definitely in the top tier. Kid wanted a vest for a steam punk costume and screamed with joy when this came in. I's exactly the color she wanted, she loves the back elastic for a more comfortable fit under her steampunk coat and the elastic around the neck lets it move more with her.We did size up to account for bust and undershirt and that was a good thing to do, as it's snug but not tight.

I really like this vest, but it's way too big on me (as you can see in the second photo). I definitely need to tailor it, but once I do, I think it will be ADORABLE!!! It seems pretty well-made, the pattern is cute, and I think the stretchy part of the back would be a nice touch if it fit me. I really look forward to bringing the edges in and actually getting to wear it. If you're looking to dip into the light academia aesthetic, I'd definitely recommend this vest.
