I cannot say enough about this book. I usually do reviews by having a PRO's and a CON's list but there are no CON's at all about this book.I am so impressed that I have already purchased numerous other similar books in this exact same series.WOW, they are thick, board books which are the best for small children. This book in particular is excellent for reading to babies as it is basically black and white which is good for their little eyes.Each page makes a sound correlating to the particular animal on the page. You just softly lay a finger over the sensor and the sound plays. Some books you have to put so much effort into pushing the sound spot that even toddlers can't do it on their own. There is a nice ON/OFF button on the back of the book. The sound is also a very acceptable level......it's far from irritating!The content of the book is excellent and easily understood. I highly recommend this book and the others in the series.

Great for baby or toddler and beyond that for special needs this high contrast board book is very attention grabbing. I like thr soxe and clarity of the images as well as the pops of primary color which is often missing from other high contrast black and white books.The sounds are crisp, clear and may elicit giggles. You have to touch a depressed area to make these happen which is not really as intuitive as it could be and may take 2 presses. Still, great for an engaging children's gift and will last a long time.

The book was ON when I got it and not wrapped so it leads me to believe that the book had been previously purchased, found defective and returned.I let the return date pass so now I'm going to replace the batteries to see if it works.Expensive little 5 page book for it not to work.

the clarity of these animal sounds is amazing. my toddles enjoys listening at bedtime. this would make a great gift for a baby or toddler. I recommend this item!

My 19 month old is really into sound books right now, so I thought he would like this. It's very basic, mostly black and white images with small pops of color. Each page is a different animal, with the sound they make written out. Every other page has a small gray circle to press and it plays a recording of the actual animal's sound. The animals with sound effects are a cow, duck, elephant, owl, penguin, and cat. He liked the book, but for me it was underwhelming considering the price. Most sound books I've gotten for him have more content, like a story, and are half the price. The pages are also pretty thin and flexible, not like a normal board book, so I'm worried about him destroying the pages pretty easily. Overall, I don't think I'd purchase another book from this company based on this purchase.

We were introduced to Ditty Bird books as gifts. So far, we have a collection of 4 of them, all of them are song ones which our little one loves.This book is a great introduction to Ditty Bird books for newborns. The black and white contrast is great for their developing eyesight.

We've had a positive experience with the Ditty Bird Baby Book. The black and white design is visually stimulating for our baby, and when the sound buttons function correctly, it adds an extra layer of entertainment. It has been a valuable tool during tummy time and play sessions. Our only minor issue is that the batteries needed replacement sooner than expected. Overall, a good addition to our baby's learning and playtime.
