10000 Shots

My copy of '10,000 Shots' arrived from Amazon last week, and I have not stopped playing it since. The Real McKenzies are one those bands that just put a smile on your face, and this album is no different, right from the 1st listen.Every track on the album is great, and there are no fillers at all. I love every track, but if I had to name the stand-outs, they would be 'The Catalpa' (a traditional sea-shanty revved up), 'The Best Day Until Tomorrow', and 'Will Ye No Come Back Again'.If you like the Dropkicks, Flogging Molly, The Mahones, The Tossers, or The Rumjacks (check them out - great Aussie Celtic punk band), then you will love this.I would have this slightly behind 'Off The Leash' as my favourite RMcK album, but only by a whisker.

Really great album. Found them through a friend and this is the first of their albums I bought, and I played it about 6 times in the first 3 days after it arrived! Though the 2nd half of the album can't really live up to the pace and power of the first half (up to "B-gger off!") it ends on a lovely note with the final track.Pour Decisions and B-gger off will be permanent additions to my MP3 player if nothing else.

FAN bloody TASTIC

this is their best album to date. ive been to listening to it constantly it superb. not one filler track. a must for anyone who likes drop kick murphys and flogging molly. it really is a classic..if it doesnt get your blood racing you must be dead.

Sono fra i maestri dell'Irish Punk Rock e secondo me questo è il loro miglior disco in assoluto...contraddistinto da canzoni potenti e dai ritornelli cantabili che ti rimangono in testa. Consigliato

Dans le genre, tout est pour moi une question de dosage : voix, saturation, mélodie, guitare et batterie "contre" pop et musique traditionnelles, ... Eh bien là le cocktail si difficile à trouver y est :-) Et c'est bon du début à la fin (avec un côté Ritchie Blackmore ou Van Halen sur la guitare, suivant les morceaux) :-))) Au top du rock (modérément punky) celtique, selon mes goûts.

Excellent album au rythme endiablé à consommer sans modération de 7 à 77 ans !Une fois de plus, les Real Mc Kenzies ont su allier airs tradionnels et modernité. Leurs versions de morceaux du répertoire celtique et écossais sont décoiffantes et innovantes, et on peut saluer également leur grande virtuosité musicale ...

Très bon album des Real Mckenzies, de très bonnes chansons, acheté avec Off the Leash à un prix très attractif pour un vinyle.Que demander d'autre ?Je conseille vivement.

Another mad offering from the Boys from the Great White North. Move over Rush, Lotus Land has got some new favorite sons and their name is the Real McKenzies. Just buy this cause you'll be missing out on one of the best acts going currently. Fat Mike from NoFX plays bass and helped produce this record. It kicks much ass with great songs and lyrics, just like all their albums. I love the artwork on this one especially.

Smart, cutting and just a little bit mean...

This is a fantastic album by one the great unknown punk bands. Hailing from Canada, the McKenzies tour all over the world, but have spent most of their time in Europe. They are a great band that fuses great punk music with songs from their Scottish heritage. Their original pieces have great lyrics and some of the best bagpipe backings I have ever heard. Like the Dropkick Murphy's? Listen to this. You will have another band that makes you want to sing along at the top of your lungs.

So far this is my favorite album by this band. It combines some traditional Irish songs with some kick-ass punk lyrics, and a couple of the songs (Pour Decisions and Bugger Off, in particular) are funny as hell. I recommend this one.

I bought this album awhile back and I still listen to it. This is one of the few albums that I enjoy more than just a couple of songs. Great band.
