Greatest Hits Volume I & Volum

This review is about the remastered version, which is the one to get - the original release has abridged versions of several songs, while this version has the longer studio album versions. The sacrifice is the omission of "Honesty" which was on the original release, replaced by "Don't Ask Me Why". Too bad - there was plenty of room for both, even with the lengthier replacement tracks.Quite simply, this 2-disc set contains the cream of Billy Joel's output, with most of his key hits (the missing few show up on a later release, Volume 3, which, part from those is pretty thin on the ground. This collection always contains some key album tracks, such as Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.

Heard this last night whilst visiting the friend purchased for - didn't realise how many of the tracks I actually knew the lyrics to; not my kind of thing but excellent and my friend was very pleased with it.

The combination of these two albums makes for a great range of Billy Joel's work. There is a third volume available to make a very complete purchase of all his work. Puchased as a used CD which arrived in good condition and sounded great.

A great couple of CDs and I think it is Billy Joe's best compilation album. One star deducted because the sleeve was badly creased. Whose fault was that?
