Ultralite for two, durable, good R factor - Worth the money!
Did a lot of research, and this is a winner. Have had three different versions of the ExPed Duo. My husband and I backpack average at least 300 miles a year with our 50 lb dog. The Exped Duo mat weighs the same amount as two individual mats, and fits in our 2 person summer tent. In the winter the high r factor has been great during sub-zero trips in high elevation, snowy and wet conditions. Our dog pushed us off our individual mats, so we gave up and now she can just sleep with us. She has long nails and has never popped any of the mats we’ve had. We had one of the mats get a hole from a porcupine that attacked our dog during a trip, but with the dual chambers, only one side was affected, and the trail repair kit held up for another 2 years before we finally just had too many miles on the seams, and decided to retire it. We had that mat for over 6 years, and probably could have gotten another season out of it, but decided to just get a new Duo mat, and lost it in a wind storm along with our tent to Lake Superior-not the mat’s fault, our exhausted stupidity made us have to replace the second mat. We had that one, with no issues for 2 years. On our third Exped Duo mat, which we got at the end of 2023 for a winter trip, and we are still loving it. The schnozzle bag ( or whatever they call it) is convenient for easier set up. Not going to lie, when we had self inflating individual pads, set up was much easier. But this isn’t that bad, takes a few minutes for set up. Backpacking is work, so a little work doesn’t bother me. The quick air release makes for quick packing up when we are in a hurry to get back on the trail. For us, this is the ideal mat.

Comfortable
Comfortable. Insulation seems ok. I love the inflation bag that comes with it.

Comfortable, durable, and wide enough to keep your arms off the ground
For decades I hiked and motorcycle camped in New England on 3/4 length therma-rest pads. Starting with the originals then into the smaller format 3/4 length pads. After my job was eliminated I spent 1/3 of this year motorcycle touring. I used a few different pads over the year. Before my Alaska trip I wanted to get a wider pad,and decided its should be full length to keep all of me off the ground. I never liked full length sleep pads because the 3/4 kept me off the ground better. I just put gear under my lower legs and feet.Changing from a sleeping bag to over quilt made the mattress pad more important. I was far more comfortable on my trips with this pad. It takes up the same mount of space, but gets me far off the ground and much warming. The big difference is that my lower legs and both arms fit on this pad when laying on my back. This pad is wide enough. I motorcycle toured most of North America this year and was the most comfortable when using this pad. Even more comfortable than using a hammock. For some reason I worried about non-self-inflation more. I don't understand why. All of these pads need to hold air to work. The new tiny pumps inflate quickly and handle months of daily use. The inflation bag that comes with this pad is sufficient to blow up the pad. The valve caps on this are perfectly placed for in/de-flation. The cord on just the inflate side really helps identify each cap by feel alone. The inflate check valve works great. The deflate works well without using a pump to vacume out trapped air. I first push some the air out, then fold the sides in and wipe my forearm from foot to head removing most of the air. After than rolling from the foot is enough to get all the air out and cap it.This mat has held up to a ridiculously long season of use. Giving me confidence it will comfort me through many more seasons of riding.

Top Shelf Operation - Exped!
I slept comfortably on a Exped Downmat 9LW for 11 years, and it performed flawlessly. I noticed the baffle was overinflating after so many years, and Exped replaced it without any questions. Yes, Exped replaced a beat and worn 11 year old mat for free!EXPED MAKES AN AMAZING PRODUCT, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY STAND BEHIND A PRODUCT THAT WAS USED FOR OVER A DECADE! World class operation! Thank you.
