The Club Soda, Kalamazoo: The Club

Iconic
I worked at Club Soda back in 1986. My good friend Lisa, who is pictured in the book, grabbed me one day and said “Come on! We’re going to get jobs!” Off we went to Club Soda and Larry gave both of us a chance. Larry was very good to us. I was exposed to such a wide range of music and great people here. Jeanne & The Dreams, Bop Harvey, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Sugar Blue, Ipso Facto just to name a few. I recognize so many of the people pictured even if I don’t remember all of their names! Thank you for the memories.

Fun memento of a past life.
The pictures were fun to look at but I didn't make the cut ;-)

Memories!
Nice collection of photos. I believe I remember the night my photo with my friends was taken. Although I have to admit I don't wear short shorts like that anymore. And I had hair then. Nice book.

great book.
This was a few years before my time at Soda, but great none the less. Thanks for the book. Club soda was a great place that shaped my ideas about rock clubs. Really one of the best.

Captured memories at their BEST...
There was no place like the Club...Randall grabbed some amazing moments...great memory of him in his black leather jacket sitting on his car with a camera asking if he could take my photo....going through the rough draft was so much fun...even after I moved to Boston, with all the music scene it has to offer, I never found anything to compare with The Club Soda....anyone who was in Kalamazoo in the 80s/90s must see this.....
