Sturdiest garden accessory I have ever purchased
Before I bought this I referred to the reviews and they convinced me to buy it. The box was quite heavy but it arrived in great shape and the contents were individually plastic-wrapped and packaged with cardboard reinforcements for protection. The top, middle, and bottom sections consist of four units each that have a vertical pipe with horizontal pipes welded to it so you just take each unit and connect it to the others with the screws provided. I found it easiest to connect in pairs so that they could free stand whilst I connected the four units together. The units connect with the horizontal tubes pointing in a counter-clockwise manner because the ends of the horizontal tubes have a slightly longer edge on the outside where they meet the vertical tube (see photos.) I built the top section first and tightened it up because the top finial took some pulling and pushing at the apex of the curved pipes to align it to the tube holes and get the screws in and tightened. I made the middle and bottom sections but kept the screws loose. I attached the top to the middle first so that later I wouldn’t have to reach up high to put the top on. The tube tip of the middle section inserts into the tube bottom of the top section with the screw passing through both so it may take some pushing and pulling to get all four tubes aligned, mated and screws passed through. Once all three sections were together I walked around and tightened alternating screws until all were tight. I was quite impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this garden obelisk. This obelisk is extremely sturdy - no climbing vegetable plant, even with 10 20lb suspended pumpkins, is too heavy for this thing (as long as you anchor it well.) This HPotter item is well engineered, the tubes, holes, and screws aligned quite well and I didn’t find any issues. The finish is antiqued and seems thick enough to withstand weather and even the screws are antiqued to match. My previous purchases of garden accessories have usually been disappointing due to the low quality at a high price but after seeing this I reckon that HPotter is stricter than most on establishing manufacturing standards and assessing and maintaining quality at their factory (in India as indicated on the box.) I will definitely consider purchasing other garden items in the future from HPotter after this first very satisfying experience!22May18 update to answer a question about dimensions - 13 3/4 inch square but horizontal tabs at bottom to anchor the obelisk make each side about 16inches (sorry can’t measure directly as they are submerged in soil!)

It’ll last forever
This was expensive , but extremely sturdy. Had difficulty with the finial When putting it together-that and cost are my only criticisms. Compared to other towers I’ve seen, this is a quality item. This business evidently takes pride in their products. Instructions are easy to follow. Was packaged well.

A Durable Piece of Artwork!
I absolutely love this obelisk! H. Potter promptly shipped the item and took great measures with packaging to make sure the item would arrive in tact. The quality of the item is exceptional, definitely made to last. Here’s the caveat…it would be most helpful to first read the customer reviews pertaining to the assembly of the obelisk. The instructions included in the carton are very vague, showing only pictures of the assembly, and the owners cell number to notify him of damages during shipping. A 7/16 nut driver is the only tool needed to assemble the obelisk. Loosely attach all the bolts. This allows “wiggle room” for alignment. Begin assembly from the top and attach the vertical legs first to each section, then the horizontal bars to the legs. I was able to assemble and anchor the obelisk by myself. Once in place and anchored, all the hard work was worth the effort.Note: You do not have to assemble all three sections. I only assembled the top and the bottom sections and left out the middle section. Also, if you would like to put a hanging basket between the horizontal bars, attach a 1/4 inch – 20, 2 inch Eye Bolt into the finial. Just remove the 7/16 hex bolt from the finial and screw in the eye bolt. If you decide to do this, make the change before you begin assembly.

sturdy and classy
Needed a tall, sturdy, and classic trellis for a gloriously vigorous climbing rose. Local garden shops just didn't carry anything remotely heavy duty enough to fulfill the job, let alone something that would be free-standing, durable, and understatedly handsome. I had been looking, offhandedly, for a couple of years, but this rose needed me to get on with the search and COVID sent me to search online. This seemed to fit the bill, and although a bit pricey, I ordered it.It arrived quickly! It was very well packed and all parts arrived in perfect shape. Assembly would have probably been easier, had I not been determined to assemble it around my thorny friend. But I didn't have the heart to hack the rose into submission just to cage it, so I and my hubby built it around the rose. The parts that we assembled prior to placing around the rose were very easy to handle -- things got a little more challenging, but only because we made them so.In the end, it is able to support the very substantial climber without additional stakes or supporting devices. It looks great and does not detract from my landscape or architecture. The finish appears very durable and will hopefully prove to be so. We also had some very strong winds over the past few days and it does not appear to have affected the trellis in the least (though other things in my garden did not fare so well).Overall, I am very pleased with how this trellis has worked out and am now planning to purchase more trellis structures from this manufacturer for my front landscape, now confidant that the expenditure will be worth it.
