This chef kit was super cute and fun for my littles. The cookie taste wasn't actually that great, but the process and baking is what was fun. The instructions were clear and very inclusive of kids helping. I recommend spending some time reading the instructions ahead of time so you can guide your kids in the midst of messy counters and bowls.

This set was just so much fun! My preschooler LOVES Peppa Pig, which helped sell him on cooking. My teen just loves cooking and would make anything. You do need to provide a few of your own items to make this: heavy whipping cream, vanilla, an egg, unsalted butter, cooking spray, and tape. You can also add fresh fruit if you want (optional). We had all of this in the house except whipping cream, which I had to run to the store for. These turned out SO GOOD! Each mud pie was HUGE, in fact, we cut them in half and ended up with 6 half pies. They tasted like a restaurant dish, seriously. The chocolate mousse part was particularly yummy. The recipe was easy for kids to follow. There is also a fun recipe included for an additional activity (Peppa Playdough made from normal things you will likely have in your kitchen already) & a QR code for more fun. I am not sure if the people who rated this poorly actually did the full activity - these are just super-duper fun and delish. It was such an awesome way to get the kids in the kitchen! We're so glad we did it. Five stars!!

I ran a bakery before I retired and had difficulty with some of these directions. They need to be written more clearly so that everyone can enjoy doing this without frustration. The kit was very complete with high quality ingredients. It made 3 large, single serving pies. The directions tell you to let them set in the refrigerator for a few hours. You really need to let them sit overnight. The chocolate taste harsh and like coco powder at first but settles into a smooth milk chocolate taste over night. You can add fresh fruit like the kit suggests or sprinkles. This is a very sugar heavy dessert. My husband and I were only able to eat half a pie at a time.

I made these muddy puddle pies with my two children. We all had a lot of fun! It was presented nicely in the package. Everything was organized and the directions were very clear to follow. I like that when the base is baking you can make the mousse and then it cools in the refrigerator while the base is cooling. It was easy to make and only used basic ingredients, most were included in the package. The only ingredients I needed to have at home were one egg, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract. Last but not least, the pie was very yummy! We highly recommend this fun baking activity!

I guess if you really don’t have basic ingredients in the house this kit would have come in handy but there’s really not much to it. Fun activity otherwise.

When you have grand kids who like to help when my wife bakes. I am always looking for stuff more on their level and easy to do. This is great and was fun to play with and easy to do. Kids really enjoyed doing it and eating the rewards of their work

A glorified cake mix. And whoever thought it a good idea to seal the box and the tissue inside so the gift giver cannot see the actual gift without ripping the seals off was wrong. I didn't want to give this sight unseen. Also, the foil tins were dented. I expect it will be a fun activity but a young child won't know the difference between this and a packet of cake mix from the store. And if you want to bake from scratch then do that--who needs stickers on sticks for decorations. You can load up on the edible cake decorations from the store for this price and they will last for several cakes, and buy several cake mixes as well.
