zero star epic... I got this piece of junk from Amazon DE as it was in 3 ha!D....Until now I have been under the delusion that 3 d makes anything watchable...this bomb has changed my opinion. It is a MESS of the first water. Sorbo acts like he is embarrassed as well he should be, Billing is given to actors who are only seen momentarily Ralf Moeller has no lines even! Anyway I was ripped off as to the 3d it was of slight effect as to be almost not there.There is no story line and there are 4 beauties but alas no nudity,,,

I loved "The Sword and the Sorcerer" and others that came out around that time.But this makes them look like hollywood blockbusters.Acting is bad, story is bad and cheep looking cgi effects.Some of the story at times is with drawing, a voice over and some of the actors just standing with the drawings, on and behind them.No gore and basicly no fighting either, your told about the fight with drawings, voice over and actors again, no proper fighting scenes.I got it cheep, but not cheep enough.After watching it, I would want paid to take it off someone.

I loved The Sword and the Sorcerer. It was fast paced, full of witty one liners and the acting was pretty good too. I was so excited to discover there was a sequel. But this........ Well words fail me. It has to be one of the worst films ever made. There is no storyline, the action, if that's what you can call it, is impossible to follow and frankly it should never have been made. Don't waste your money is this. Even 1 star is way too generous for this tripe.

Fortunately I came across this as a remaindered DVD. I would have been very upset if I had paid full price. My objectionsIt is poorly edited, full of unneccesary cross cuts that make it difficult to watchIt does not appear to come to any form of conclusionIt is badly written. The script does not flow and is so full of sepia backflashes and too make it almost impossible to follow.The camera work is terrible. Using a sepia filter, and a colorised sky does not make a location exotic guys.Avoid this movie, it is a waste of 90 minutes of your life.

Soll wohl mystisch sein, ist aber nur vollkommen unverständlich. Kevin Sorbo und auch die anderen Schauspieler zeigen sich auf eine Weise, die ich nun wirklich nicht brauche. Schade ums Geld!

Leider kann man keine 0 geben... Der Film wirkt ehr wie ein TheaterstückWobei die Geschichte dahinter super ist, aber die Umsetzung...

Wie der erste Teil ein ziemlich blöder Film. Zumindest war die Qualität des Films besser. Aber auch hier Geldverschwendung. Ich bin andere Filme gewöhnt.

Kein Meilenstein in der Fantasy Bronche...aber das hatte ich ehrlich gesagt auch nicht erwartet. Schön mal wieder den Herculles Darsteller in einer Fantasy Rolle zu sehen, auch wenn nicht oft. 1x gekuckt und ab ins Regal.

von Kultfilm kann hier nun wirklich nicht gesprochen werden. Einfach schlecht gemacht und auf die Handlung gehe ich erst gar nicht ein.Alles in Allem sehr sehr ärgerlich!!!

Normalerweise versuche ich ja wirklich alles aus einem Produkt herauszuholen und eine halbwegs bessere Bewertung abzugeben. Aber dieses mal ist eigentlich eine Sternwertung im Minusbereich fällig gewesen, so dermaßen schlecht und unfertig ist dieser Film. Ein anderer Schreiber einer Rezension hat dieses Machwerk mit Ed Wood verglichen.Ich sag euch, hiergegen ist Ed Wood ein Filmgenie gewesen.Kaum zu glauben, daß mit Albert Pyun der gleiche Regisseur wie beim ersten Sword and the Sorcerer-Film an diesem Film gearbeitet hat. Pyuan ist zwar sicherlich kein Genie seines Faches, kann aber eigentlich dennoch auf einige gute Werke vor allem in den 80ern zurückgreifen.Der erste Teil von Sword and the Sorcerer war seinerzeit im Jahre 1982 mit einem Einspielergebnis von knapp 40 Millionen Dollar sehr erfolgreich und in meinen Augen ein Fantasy-Meilenstein (zeigt mir bis Anfang der 90er Jahre die guten Fantasy-Filme zum Thema Sword and Sorcery die VIEL besser sind, mir fallen da nicht viele ein, vielleicht Krull, aber da kann man ja drüber streiten).Nun warte ich ja eigentlich schon Jahrzehnte auf die Fortsetzung und dann das hier.Aber versuchen wir erstmal doch etwas Positives zu finden:- Es sind sehr viele halbwegs bekannte Schauspieler an dem Film beteiligt.- Die Mädels sind echt hübsch anzusehen.- Der Film hat nur 450 Tausend Dollar gekostet, was natürlich ein wenig entschuldigen könnte (tut es aber nicht, Mad Max 1 hat damals auch so viel gekostet, auch wenns eine andere Zeit war)Jetzte das Negative :- Der Film kostet 9,99 Euro. Eigentlich muß man den Zuschauer bezahlen, diesen anzusehen.- Die Story !? Ja, genau, man hat sie vergessen. Sie existiert nämlich gar nicht ! Ehrlich. Unglaublich aber wahr, ein paar Fragmente und Dialoge sind übrig geblieben und diese sind dermaßen schlecht und nicht greifbar.- Ich liebe die Szene am Ende in der Mitte einer Wüste, wo der Held Oda (mit wunderschöner Weißhaarperücke vom letzten Karnevalflohmarkt) zufällig einen Priester trifft (mitten in der Wüste ?!). Nicht ein Sandkorn auf der gelackten Kleidung und sie führen einen Dialog gefühlte 3 Stunden lang (an dessen Inhalt ich mich bis heute nicht erinnern kann). Am liebsten würde ich hier mal einige Dialoge aufschreiben, aber das sprengt den Rahmen. Zieht euch irgendwo im Netz das Drehbuch rein und ihr habt was zu lachen.- Die Computereffekte sind absolut genial. Besonders die Außenansicht vom Königspalast und das Schiff auf dem Meer haben mir gefallen (LOL). Wie wärs das nächste Mal mit C64 - Grafik, die hat wenigstens mehr Stil. Wir leben heutzutage in Zeiten von Blender und Co., wo man mit billigen Mitteln hervorragende Leistung bringen kann. Ich kenne genug Hobby 3D-Designer, welche selbst betrunken bessere Modelle erstellen können.- Wieso hat Oda das Schwert mit den drei Klingen und nicht Talon ?- Wieso hat Oda Xusia getötet und nicht Talon ?- Wieso sieht Xusia plötzlich so scheiße aus mit seinem grauem Bärtchen ?- Wenn man schon Lee Horsley als Talon kurz auftreten läßt, dann doch bitte halbsweg mit der Frisur und dem Äußeren von früher (auch wenn der älter geworden ist) und nicht mit dem Stil eines Schnurrbartpolizisten aus Bayern ?- Wenn Talon hier gealtert ist und in Teil ja gegen Xusia gekämpft hat und diesen vernichtet, wie konnte dann der inzwischen ebenfalls sehr alte Oda in seiner Jugend auch Xusia bekämpfen und töten ? Waren das Zwillinge mit gleichem Namen, die zur gleichen Zeit getötet wurden ?! Nun ja, wie wäre es mit ein wenig Kontinuität !- Erst dachte ich ja das Talon der Vater der vielen Kinder gewesen ist, aber das war dann doch Oda, welcher ja auch unheimlich wie ein Weiberheld wirkte und auftrat (die alte Schnarchnase). Talon hätte da besser gepaßt, hätte dem Ganzen auch Sinn gegeben.- Das Ende ist der Knaller !! Stellt euch vor, ihr schaut euch Rocky an und der Film läuft auch bis kurz vor dem Endkampf (was ja eigentlich der Höhepunkt des Films ist) und plötzlich erzählt dir jemand einfach wie der Kampf ausgeht und Ende ?! Hääähh ! Wasn hier los ? Mir viel da echt die Kinnlade auf den Boden. Und dann zeigt man uns noch nen toll gemaltes Monster, welches sich in Pixel auflöst.Ich könnte die Liste des Schlechten noch weiter führen, habe aber keine Lust mehr dazu.Deshalb ABSOLUTE EMPFEHLUNG : Selbst 1 Euro ist hierfür zu teuer (außer ihr braucht ne neue CD-Hülle und nen halbwegs ansprechendes Cover). Der Film ist wirklich schlecht und ich kann mir einfach keinen vernunfbegabten Menschen vorstellen, der diesem Film etwas abgewinnen kann. Auch größte Fans von Teil 1 sollten sich den Kauf überlegen und wenn ihr Sammler seid und nur eure Sammlung vervollständigen wollt, packt ihr den Film einfach ungesehen in das Regal, um weiteren seelischen Schaden zu vermeiden, denn dort sieht der Film am besten aus.Wartet lieber auf Kull mit Kevin Sorbo, denn den finde ich persönlich zumindestens recht gut und freue mich endlich auch den auf DVD zu bekommen......

Ugh. The first sword and the sorcerer is great B Movie fare so I was expecting the same from this but in truth this is unwatchable.It starts with what should be a decent overview of what happened before with a rather well done illustrated prologue. However, they took these cheesy actors and superimposed them over this prologue and it was all just bad. I found the prologue on youtube without the actors and it works MUCH better.The movie vacillates between cheesy "good" and "just plain bad'. At times the actors clearly look like they are standing in front of a green screen. The story does not flow well at all. Kevin Sorbo actually does a decent job but the writing hampers all the actors.Acting is all over the place. Some of the actors "over act" a bit much.I think with a better script and maybe even a better director this could have been more fun than it turned out to be.

I purchased this hoping it to be a continuation of the first Sword and the Sorcerer movie. Strictly speaking, I suppose it does, however it is not an enjoyable movie to watch. At the start you have to sit through a lot of dialog of people in front of a green screen. Once the movie actually gets started (sort of) any rhythm you get is broken up by more dialog. Many of the scenes you would expect to maybe be interesting are immediately cut short and replaced again, with dialog. "boring... boring... oh this might be a cool fight scene.. dialog cuts in... dialog cuts out... fight scene skipped... boring..." and repeat.Be satisfied with the first movie and pretend that was all that was ever created, you'll be happier.

well to start with the title of the movie is not the sword and the sorcerer 2 It is tales of an ancient empire which I had already purchased now I have two copies of the same movie each with a different title when the movie starts playing it doesn't give the title sword and the sorcerer 2 it says tales of an ancient empire the other thing is the actors that are listed Val Kilmer etc. are not in the moviethe outside of the cassette has the sword and the sorcerer 2 title but that's not what you're gettingif there actually is a sword and the sorceress 2 movie out there than I would like to know where it is.

I was amazed to find this at all!
