Starting your home bar can be an intimidating prospect. Knowing what you need and working within the average person's budget and space often means everything in your bar needs to be versatile and easy to care for without too many niche gadgets.I was very pleased with Bare Barrel's compact and sleek barware set. I loved the stainless steel selection of tools without unnecessary frills, who needs a jigger with an awkward handle? Each item is sturdy and functional, perfect for home bar use. I was delighted to see the attention to detail such as a more ergonomic muddler with a textured bottom, caps for pour spouts and a spiral handled bar spoon. Details that are often overlooked in mass produced sets, but can really make a difference in everyday use.Bare Barrel has a clear view of aesthetics, offering a range of metallic colorways and a coordinated, compact wooden caddy that makes storing and pulling out tools easy and efficient. They have also clearly understood their market for the cocktail enthusiast and home bar builder through not only a solid set of tools but a straightforward and concise cocktail recipe card booklet, an extra thoughtful touch; especially when gifting. The recipes were a core catalog of classics to give someone new confidence in an approachable way.Room for improvement? Always; but nothing that detracts from the pleasure of using this set but is more aligned with personal preference. Working in the industry and now entertaining frequently at home, I would love to see an insulated Boston shaker version and a tighter coil on the spring of the Hawthorne strainer for a tighter fit and for a finer strain on foamy cocktails like sours and fizzes, but these would be enhancements and not a reason to overlook this great set!

This bar set is such high quality and stunning! Upon opening, the set is packaged really securely. It’s great having all the essential pieces you need to make a delicious cocktail all in one, and the stand is very well organized, sturdy, and hardly takes up any space which is a huge plus. It also looks wonderful on any bar cart or counter! The recipe cards that come with it is great for beginners getting started with making cocktails. The shaker gets the drinks ice cold and it’s rust proof. I’ve been able to make so many drinks with this and can’t wait to continue making more! This set will definitely set you up for success!

++++Updated Review ++++The company got back to me quickly after this review and sent multiple handwritten notes of apology to me... and surprisingly, an entirely NEW set! I thought that was a kind thing to do when all I had originally hoped for was a replacement for the defective cobbler shaker.They did send the Boston shaker set instead of my original cobbler set, which is wonderful. Honestly, each is a quality set of bar tools overall - the pieces look gorgeous and stand up to repeated use. I have other brands of all of these individual tools since I regularly make cocktails for others and travel sometimes with them to events. I realize some people don't know how to use a cobbler shaker well and can often have an issues getting the tins apart in certain circumstances, but I do feel the original one was truly defective. I still have it and have kept trying to pry it apart to no avail. And when I thought I wasn't going to get a replacement, I bought the Etens version of the same copper cobbler and it has been fine from the start and never stuck. I don't think it's as pretty overall as this set though. I think they just need to have a QC talk with the subcontractor who machines the shakers for them. I've heard other YouTube Mixology influencers/sellers recently talk of having the same machine shop quality issues - specifically with this cobbler shaker issue - and having to return whole lots of them for re-machining. Then again, I might be the only Bare Barrel customer with this particular issue. Either way - I am now a big fan of Bare Barrel - because it's obvious they really care about their customers. I will be buying from them again.I'm adjusting my rating up substantially because of the EXCELLENT customer service of this company. And also the beauty of the set as a whole, as well as the seamless ease of use of the Boston version of this shaker.THANK YOU, Bare Barrel!+++++++++++++The copper finish on this set is gorgeous and it's one of the better stands where items don't fall off... but I have been very disappointed with the shaker. When I first got the set I noticed the top half of the shaker really had a hard time connecting with the base. It didn't sit correctly and I had to use force to hold it together at all - like it was a material defect. When I actually mixed a drink with it I did have to really carefully hold it on because as soon as I wasn't holding the pieces tightly together they just fell apart. I was willing to live with that because I love the beauty of the whole set, but today I went to strain a drink I made and the top lid for the strainer portion is just stuck. Permanently. I can see it is not sitting on straight. I have tried everything to unscrew it or loosen it: tried hot water, tried dawn dishwashing liquid, vegetable oil... eventually banging on the counter. Nothing is loosening this defectively seated strainer top. That, paired with the poor fit on the main sections of the shaker just really renders this beautifully looking shaker useless for me.Besides that, I would add as a minor thing: I'd rather have a jigger with the measurements marked inside. This one doesn't have partial measurements inside or outside... so I had to buy a separate jigger because I have a lot of fractional oz ingredients in my cocktails.All that said, it's a gorgeous set. Just not functional for me with the shaker unusable. I tried to contact the seller before posting to see if they could send me a working shaker... but Amazon help keeps pushing me to return the whole thing which is a hassle.

I love this barware set for my cocktail videos! I ordered the black and it is beautiful and feels high quality. It has more pieces than other sets I’ve looked into it. I love that it has the pour pieces. It is worth noting that the black set is hand wash only.

The jet black set is BEAUTIFUL and such great quality!! I’ve gotten complements on how nice it is. It was also very well packaged so everything came in perfect condition. I also love that it’s rust proof so I don’t run into any issues like I’ve had with other brands! I also love that it comes with a recipe book I feel like that’s so helpful and fun, especially if you’re looking to learn how to make and try some new drinks! Highly recommend!!

Tools are great. Tumbler seals well. Spoon and muffler both have a nice weight. My only problem was when I got it nothing except the tumbler would fit in the stand. Turns out the top piece of the stand was put on backwards and after I took it apart and reassembled it everything fit right as it should.
