Fixing brackets that are perfect for exposed bar valves

I have experienced endless problems with slow water leaks from the connections on this blasted fitting. The concept is good and the device substantial but it is poorly designed and finished, with sharp threaded components that slice through ptfe tape, which are also difficult to tighten effectively because of the crummy overall design. I’ve used similar products in the past on other showers with no problem at all, but this particular device has proved an absolute nightmare.

So initially I thought this bracket was great and really good idea to set the inlet pipes to the right distance. The problem came once I put water through them whatever I did they would leak at the joint. In the end I had to buy a replacements elbows. On the first attempt did not leak at all, so the bracket was to blame. These are poorly made and I wasted extra money trying to stop the leaks. In the end the weak point was this bracket. Nice idea but poorly manufactured!

The bracket is the right design but be aware that the screw threads and fittings will need plenty of sealing! I eventually had to use numbers mate to seal the cold side.
