Chill Factor Ice Cream Maker-Vanilla Pink

I specifically ordered this item on amazon to ensure I received the "PINK" one (Target shelves are full of the brown one, and I could have purchased it more conveniently there). Nonetheless, I ordered this one online and received the brown one despite the description in item title. Aside from my little girl being disappointed at first glance, it does make ice cream easily & "yummy" according to a five-year olds standards :).

THIS is what my 5 year old asked Santa for this year! SO OK, fine. It has SEVEN separate parts for you to have the pleasure of hand-washing. We followed the instructions for vanilla ice cream; it did quickly turn into a very soft serve, but tasted awful. It is a giant PIA.

Makes ice cream in minutes. Fun and easy! Cleaning is a little difficult as there are many parts.

My 3yo daughter begged for this after seeing it on YouTube. It doesn't really make ice cream; I put real ice cream in it and just have her squeeze it thinking she's making ice cream. Kinda upset I paid $9 for it and there was a Goodwill sticker on it for $2.99.

First, this came without recipe cards, even though the box claims to include it. I found the recipes online. Second, it just doesn’t work. We had it in the freezer for two days, and I tried making ice cream, it just warms up too fast to make it. I’m a (semi) patient adult, and if I couldn’t get it to work, then the impatient kids won’t, either. I’m disappointed, as this was my daughter’s birthday present.

We were hoping for a better result despite carefully following instructions it was very difficult to get anything resembling ice cream- yes even soft serve. You must use the highest fat content cream you can find (read the label!); anything below 9% won't work. But if you chill the ingredients well and use the high fat stuff, and shake your head off as you shake this thing, you will be rewarded with a small serving of al its soft serve. It tasted delicious...

Great gifts! Easy to use and fun for the kids. Would buy in future.

I bought this item because I thought it sounded like summer fun. We have the Slushie Maker by Chill Factor and that works great. The ice cream maker works ok but please follow the recipes on the website, not the ones that come with the product. I think something was lost in translation. Chill Factor needs to re-print the recipe book that is included with purchase.
