This really does work. Removing windfall apples is much quicker and easier plus less chance of getting stung by wasps than bending over and picking them up by hand. We already had the handle so only needed the item itself so slightly less damaging to the wallet. It failed to reliably pick up Victoria plums as these are quite small and we keep our lawn quite long so it struggled but for apples it is absolutely perfect. They roll out of the basket through the scoop straight into a wheelbarrow once you have filled the basket. Wish we had found this solution about 20 years ago.

Easy to use. Bought to collect the windfall apples and does a great job. Doesn't come with the handle though so you'll need to order that too unless you have already.

Should come with an extension handle.

Good quality item which means no ladders required.

Sturdy .. for plums and apples.

It works well (my neighbour has one) but I was stunned to realise on receiving mine that I had purchased only the head & not the handle as well for over £45. A total scam given the whole point of it is that it is supposed to save you bending over to pick up the fruit. Will hope to fit onto a makeshift pole/handle & not bother with Gardena goods again.

I was disappointed to see that it came without the handle. However, having looked at the item again, it did make it clear. I have a number of apple trees in my garden and it did take a long time to pick up from the ground. This item is amazing, no more backache. I use it all the time and love it.
