Wonderful adventure!
"Rivers of Ice" by Bill Alley is a true story about the Alaska Yakutat Bay Expedition of 1906. The author was fortunate to have notes and photographs from one of the explorers, Bill Thompson, who happens to be the author's grandfather. Mr. Alley has given us a detailed description of Alaska's Yakutat and Disenchantment Bay as they were seen in 1906. When reading this great tale of hardships and difficulties in the new land, you feel like you are there with the team and walking the routes for the first time just as they had. You don't feel like this is a history lesson but a tale well told. I definitely recommend reading "Rivers of Ice" if you enjoy adventure and historical stories. This will hold your attention from beginning to end.
