This hard cello cases will offer fantastic overall protection for your instrument. Each cases utilises what Hiscox call their 'Liteflite double molded construction' method which offers unparalleled strength which they match with great value for money. There range of cases come in a number of guises, this one is without wheels and with their standard interior. The 'double molded construction' consists of an ABS plastic outer shell which is bonded to an inner molding of high tech cellular foam. The idea of this method is that the outer shell provides a strong, resistant exterior whilst the inner foam absorbs impacts which protects the cello whilst also being incredibly light-weight. This method is unique to Hiscox and is something they are rather proud of! The interior of this case is crafted from silver crushed velour which nestles the cello snugly and prevents movement inside the case. There are also two bow holders and an accessory pocket, the later being useful for rosin or spare strings. The outside of this case is textured black and around the edge of each half of the case is an aluminium valance which when coupled to the 8 strong clips ensures that the case fits securely together. The 8 clips or catches are riveted through this aluminum edge and again through the hardware of the case. This case comes complete with back-pack style straps for ease of carrying and the light-weight nature of these cases make them ideal for cellists, young or old! It is worth pointing out that this is a generic full size cello case and as such will fit most full size cellos. Modern makers generally produce their cellos based on the Stradivari design but if you do have an instrument of the Montagnana design for example which has slightly larger 'shoulders' it might be worth checking the overall fit.
