While gelatinization (a heat-based process akin to boiling or otherwise cooking the root) may make raw maca powder easier to digest (by breaking down its fibrous starches), what it also does is significantly reduce the nutritional content of the maca, as many nutrients are naturally sensitive to heat. But Toniiq’s Maca Extract products are not made with raw maca powder; they are instead 20X concentrations achieved through a controlled water/ethanol extraction process designed to maximize the nutritional value of the resultant powdered extract.
