Best Resource for CAPM Preparation
I’m currently using the CAPM® Exam Prep, Fifth Edition as my main resource to prepare for the upcoming CAPM exam, and it’s been an invaluable tool. The content is well-organized, aligning perfectly with the PMBOK® Guide, and the clear explanations make complex concepts easy to understand. The practice questions and mock exams are incredibly helpful for gauging my progress and identifying areas where I need more focus. While the book is thorough, I do wish it included more real-world examples to further solidify my understanding. Overall, it’s a must-have for anyone serious about passing the CAPM exam. Highly recommend!

Find Other References
I bought this because it was supposed to align with the newest edition of the PMBOK which has PM Principles instead of Knowledge Areas. While this book references that early on (page 6), it then goes into all the knowledge areas and all their ITTOs. I will say that it does inlclude "agile" and "BA" focus sections (BA is incorporated throughout most chapters and Agile has it's own section). Please visit the PMBOK site to ensure you will know the subject material. Buy other resources because this won't be enough due to the lack of questions (most questions are knowledge-based questions fwiw). Anyway, I am sure some of it will apply and my studying will be worth it. However, I am someone who also develops and implements course materials for learners and I really think this is confusing and could cause their foundational knowledge to be askew. Ask anyone who has taken the new CAPM (came out in July 2023) and they will tell you ITTOs aren't the focus. See Reddit.I have also found a lot of typos and things missing. For example, Exercise 10.1 asks what quality process Testing/product evaluation is in but it's not mentioned in the chapter to the best of my knowledge. The terms "risk parameters assessment" is missing from the Quicktest terms in the Managing Risk chapter. Or the Quicktest term "last responsible moment" is not found anywhere in Chapter 5. Maybe they scrambled to update it but IMHO it doesn't look good for this book to have these many mistakes when it's a book on managing a project LOL.Maybe RMC has incorporated updates in their online version of the text? Would be nice if you could submit mistakes somewhere. In addition, you are directed to their website with QR codes to access their resources but it's such a hassel. I end up having to put in a request code, someone emails me, only for it to expire. It's just too clunky of a website and process.I think it's a good source, but do not let it be your only source. You will absolutely need to practice outside of this book. Had their been less mistakes and more attention to detail, I may have purchased their own exam simulator or flashcards. Wish me luck.
