An excellent read
I have known about this book for all of my adult life, but not bothered to get a copy. I am so glad that I did. It is a fascinating read about an era and lifestyle that is completely alien to us. Having visited the scene of Billy's exploits some years ago, it was good to read the story which is probably historically close to the truth.

Hmmm
This is an interesting read but I get the impression it's a bit imaginative with the truth as far as Pat Garrett is concerned. Certainly talks about things that I've never heard or seen about The Kid before. It's as if Pat builds up William H Bonney with all these crazy stories to make him more legendary in order to build hype around himself for being the man who killed The Kid.Who knows though? Not me! Worth a look.

86p well spent!
Difficult to know what to chose as a first purchase for my new kindle! Ploughed through the bio's and settled on this one as it ticked many of my interest boxes. Always knew it would be a little "exaggerated" - after all it was written by the man who shot Billy The Kid in an age when stories were always "very tall". I would say though that I was not disappointed and was extremly pleased with my choice. As long as you're not looking for a book with historical detail of the time and appreciate the needs of the author (everyone has to earn a living!) I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Bily the Kid
A different view from the other biographies That I have read concerning 'The Kid.' Pat Garret, as the man who tracked him down and killed him, it seems, should be the definitive version. Their is no mention of Governor Lew Wallace with whom the Kid kept up a correspondence about his amnesty and not much about Garretts Assumed friendship with the Kid. Despite all this it is not a bad read and gives another and different insight into the young murderer and thief's short life.

Badly published
It's nice and interesting read but badly published. Chapters are starting sometimes on even pages, and sometimes on uneven pages. The publisher couldn't even be bothered with numbering the pages. Font is very small. Perhaps it's in line with the original publication, but this is not an original: it's a republished book and could have been published according to modern-day standards. This is below modern-day publishing standards.
