I must have been living under a rock for a while since i don't even know this product exists. What a great tool to have and it's easy to use. It's great for framing a fence or wire structure for your plants. I would buy an extra one as a gift for my family.

Good for cages!
I was looking at steel zip ties or aircraft safety wire before even considering hog rings. Like other reviews say, this tool makes it simple and quick to join sections of wire fence. I just wish it held more rings. This made the job partially enjoyable.

Pliers work well, the hog rings quickly rust
The pliers work well and make a job go much faster than single piece rings. Unlike single ring pliers, the nature of the auto feeder causes you to learn a new way to install the rings. As a result these may not be the best solution for some.The downside of the Dewalt package is that the 11/16" hog ring strips that are included are so poorly galvanized they rust badly in less than a season and will likely be gone by the end of year 2.I've got plenty of single piece 304 stainless hog rings. I just need to find a vendor that sells 11/16" chisel tip hog ring strips in 304 stainless.

For Light Weight Work
Don't have any hogs, but the number of light weight jobs I have found for these interesting pliers is beyond describing here. You don't get a super strong close, but one that is good enough. Don't stake your life on the strength of the closure of the hog ring.... it's not for fencing or high tension work. More for bag closure, or net building or tethering two lines together in a temporary way. And NO, don't try to use this on your kids. This is not a jewelry product. Doubt if a pig would put up with it, either.
