I like the design of this style of pin mounts. I read a review that they don't fit maxtrax boards. The flat bar brackets don't fit the 10.5" width of the maxtrax/Actiontrax, but that's okay. I fabricated two flat bars and mounted them to my bed rail. The acorn nut handles center themselves in the mounting holes on the boars and tighten to give some tension on the nuts. I'm hoping they don't back them selves out. If they do, I added cotter pins to make sure I don't lose them. If they do back out, I'll drill some holes further down the shaft of the pin and insert them there. The build quality is decent and the price is reasonable. Over all, I'm happy with them. Right now, I have one pair of boards. These mouning pins have more room to add another two boards.

The quality of this mounting kit is good. I really love the mix of stainless steel hardware & aluminum parts. I can tell the mounts should last the test of time.I will say however, getting the mounts mounted to my roof rack required quite the effort an a lot of patience. If you can get a friend or spouse onto help you’ll have a MUCH easier time. Trying to hold all the pieces while tightening up the bolts was not easy & I consider myself a very handy person.Another bummer was the fact that the studs that go through the traction boards are larger than the holes in my Bunker boards. I had to bore them out with a 5/8” drill bit. Though you could probably get away with 9/16”. But 1/2” was for sure still too small.And for you guys with Bunker traction boards, you won’t be able to use the lock feature of this mounting kit! The threaded studs that go through the holes in the boards are not long enough to allow the tightening bolts to go down far enough to expose the lock hole. I have them tightening as much as possible & you can see in my second picture that I cannot put a lock on the stud. So I bought more little cable locks to keep them somewhat safe (see third pic)Maybe other boards will allow the lock feature to be used but not with the Bunker’s higher end boards at least.For the installation difficulty & not being able to use the locking feature I gave them 4 stars.

product seems to be ok, sturdy enough. one flaw that I've come to notice is the hexagonal nuts used to tighten the boards down loosen up very easily. if they're not blocked off at the top by a lock or zip-tie they're flying off for sure. not sure if there is a special tool to tighten them up without damaging the nut. most likely loctite blue 242 is the solution for this. either way, lock the tops somehow to keep those hex nuts from flying off from the vibration.a redesign or locking mechanism added to this would help a lot. otherwise the product is as described.

Easy to use and works with my moelle panal

Ordered this after doing a long search to find a bracket that would fit my roof rack. Not too many choices that fit my needs (or rack). This one works perfectly. It arrived as scheduled, and it was easy to install. Good quality and construction. Thankfully I did not have to make any modifications as the manufacturer had suggested. The only problem was the lack of instructions as I wanted to make sure it was properly installed. The instruction pamphlet included basically showed different configurations for different set-ups and nothing else. It states on the back of the first page, “Simply follow the easy assembly instructions in this manual, and follow the setup and safety guidelines closely”. Again, it was easy for me, but it might be a little confusing to others. Definitely recommended.
