I am left with 2 faulty smoke alarms ☹️
I ordered these smoke alarms from and installed them in my children’s bedrooms 5 months ago. The reason I chose them was that they have a 10y battery. Sadly they both seemed to be faulty. They started making a shrill beeping randomly. We have had several awful nights sleep as they woke the children and upset them. We have had both of them on the worktop in the kitchen at separate times and they are both doing this.I contacted the seller who advised that in order to prevent them going off in error they should be vacuumed every TWO WEEKS!!I have spoken to a few people about this, none of them had ever heard of the need to vacuum smoke alarms regularly and several of them had alarms with 10y batteries which have been working fine for a long time with no vacuuming.I feel they are not fit for purpose, my husband and I agree that we cannot use them, even if we did remember to vacuum them every 2 weeks we do not want to risk any more frightening wake ups for the kids due to them going off in error. They should not be going off at random after 5-6 months use and they should not need regular vacuuming. Unfortunately the company who sold them (Delightful-UK) do not agree that they are faulty and will not refund us. =Unhappy customer

10 year - no brainer
Recently moved into new home & wanted to ensure Alarms were up to date with the current Fire Regs. One was fitted in hall outside the Kitchen on Ground floor & the other upstairs on the landing between the Bedrooms.Hopefully these won't need replacing for 10 years & I won't hear those irritating beep noises that goes with cheaper battery operated ones when there are in low battery for a long while

18 months
One started chirping after probably less than a year and a half. It has now died completely. It doesn’t breed confidence in the one that remains. It is obviously the non replaceable battery but they are meant to last a long time…

packed up after 18 months. not a 10 year life
This has been active for 18 months, it only went off once briefly and now the battery has gone flat. Shouldn't be advertised as lasting 10 years. Best to buy cheaper detector and replace batteries each year.

Not fit for purpose,
One smoke detector lasted 12 months and the other lasted 26 months. Take no notice of the 10 year battery life guarantee, it’s untrue
