.. Und ebenso auch Helden. So auch in dieser wunderbaren Geschichte. Mir hat alles gefallen, von den Charakteren, zur Wortwahl, die fantastische Welt mit ihrem intelligenten Bösewicht und all den Zusammenhängen der Schicksale ihrer Menschen. Die Autorin macht es mir leicht einen Charakter schätzen zu lernen und am Ende sogar zu lieben, mit dem man sich nicht unbedingt identifizieren können muss. Auch die beiläufige Liebesgeschichte ist achtsam und realistisch geschrieben. Schön dass mal jemand ohne Übersexualisierung und herrischer Dominanz auskommt und aufrichtige Zuneigung vermitteln kann, so wie wir sie uns in der realen Welt für Partnerschaften wünschen. Von mir gibts alle 5 Sterne dafür. Auch die anderen Bücher: Daughter of the Pirate King I & II sowie Blade of Secrets haben mir sehr gut gefallen.

I didn’t preorder it and I will admit that was a mistake. I literally have no idea why I waited so long to read/order this one. I loved Tricia Levenseller’s other books so this should have been a no-brainer.Favorite CharacterIric – I loved his sassiness. I wish he had been a more prominent character (but I understand why he wasn’t). He was the perfect balance to Soren and Rasmira. I would love to see a spin-off/sequel featuring Iric and Aros.Cover ArtI like this cover. The ax is different and I like the colors. There is both literal and symbolic meaning featured. Also, I like that you can really tell that this book is viking inspired.Final ThoughtsI loved this book. It was quick read and it was so well done. Just enough detail to get the story across with characters that left me wanting more. I would read anything else that Tricia Levenseller writes and anything else set in this world.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Recommendations for Further ReadingSky in the Deep by Adrienne Young – if you like vikings and bad-ass heroines, definitely check this book out. So many similar themes and both books are so good!Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller – I love, love, love Tricia’s writing style. This series was totally different plot-wise, but has the same feeling in the writing. If you liked Warrior of the Wild, definitely check out her other books.Beasts of the Frozen Sun by Jill Criswell – this book has not been released yet but it’s amazing and it’s definitely comparable to Warrior of the Wild. Both are viking-inspired stories with gods, romance, and kick-ass leading ladies.

Eu resolvi ler este livro por duas razões. Primeiro, a autora, Tricia Levenseller, escreveu dois dos meus livros favoritos. É recomendação suficiente, não? Além disso, um livro sobre uma garota viking é tão, mas tão a minha cara — como me disseram recentemente, — que eu teria dado uma chance para ele ainda que não conhecesse a autora ou tivesse boas recomendações. Não posso dizer que estou decepcionada realmente, porque gostei muito de várias coisas nele, mas este livro não chegou nem perto de me conquistar como os outros dois da Tricia.Fica bem claro neste daqui o quanto ela é talentosa, por incrível que pareça. Warrior of the Wild é bastante clichê e previsível e muito de seu desenvolvimento é manjado e feito rápido demais — o que, na minha opinião, é seu verdadeiro defeito. Mas, mesmo assim, a essência da história, o enredo, as reviravoltas e todos os detalhes da ambientação provam que a autora tem talento. Não foi usado direitinho, talvez este seja um livro que ela escreveu rápido demais ou simplesmente não estava tão apegada à história, vai saber. Só sei que ele poderia ter sido incrível, mas acabou sendo só pouco mais do que okay.A protagonista, Raz, tem uma jornada interessante e uma personalidade bacana. Fiquei com muita raiva por ela já no começo do livro, e olha que foi por duas coisas que eu sabia que aconteceriam, já que faziam parte da sinopse ou estavam claras desde o primeiro capítulo. Ou seja, eu claramente consegui me conectar com ela, mas ainda não foi o suficiente para se tornar marcante. Os outros personagens importantes aqui, Soren e Iric, são bacanas também, mas um pouco genéricos, e a química entre eles e a Raz, na minha opinião, ficou rasa demais.Para falar a verdade, não tem nada de fatalmente errado aqui, nada irritante ou revoltante. Só não chega a conquistar realmente. Gostei de tudo, só acho que poderia ter sido melhor. Até mesmo a revelação final foi um pouco anti-climática, não por ela em si, mas pelo jeito que foi narrada.Não estou decepcionada, é verdade, vou continuar lendo os livros da autora e estou especialmente animada para o próximo! Até recomendo Warrior of the Wild, mas acho válido manter suas expectativas baixas e não esperar nada surpreendente, só um livro bacana para passar o tempo.
