A Culmination of Loss and Redemption
There’s some imagery to Undercurrents that you won’t find in other poem and story collections, which tells me one thing: it comes straight from the author’s derived experiences and memory bank recounting. You can see in each segment how Vishva draws from the pains and glorified redemption that’s been undergone over the course of a longer stretch of time, which in this case translates to an absolutely astounding piece of literature. Some of the pieces that stuck out with me the most were: Undercurrents, 20’s because of how relatable it felt, The Deep End which goes to show how both past and present can break and quake the mindscape, and finally Constellation of Hope. This is a work that I feel like I can revisit and draw on from time to time, using the author’s subtle hints towards living a meaningful life in order to benefit the dreams of one’s own. What a book!

A fantastic debut.
A collection of thoughtful poems, and melancholy short stories, Vishva gives a glimpse into a unique life shaped by unfortunate circumstance.A fantastic debut, by an author who has much more to come. Well worth a read!

This book is a miracle
This book is a miracle. How Phyllis Brusiloff has managed to evoke so well the warmth and sweetness of such an emotionally rich life I do not know. Perhaps the true miracle is how she drew on her own deep emotional resources to build that life and family and infuse it with her own warmth, love, and wisdomA rich life. A rich story!
