You won't need an alarm with a tick this loud!
This adorable little clock will be fine if you like a clock with such a loud tick that NOTHING shuts it up! I was so disappointed, not least because my husband said he would leave home unless I got rid of it! The whole thing was made worse because I hadn't noticed you got FOUR for the price of one and now I'm left with three to get rid of. The really plus side to the clock is that it is small and robust and best of all, has a press button which lights up the clock face if you want to see the time in the middle of the night. It is the only clock I have found that does this and it is the reason I bought it. SO! I am going to go to a lot of trouble to try and subdue the tick by oiling the works with fine clock oil and then packing the empty part of the interior with muffling plastic. Fingers crossed!
