Perfect for the budding backwoods banjo boy
A bit flimsy and didn't make me a better player - also handy if going to a party as Freddy Kruger

Excellent quality as always from Dunlop
I bought these for playing lap steel with and am definitely happy with them. They're fairly easy to adjust to the size of my fingers and they sit snugly without moving around. I've gotten a decent amount of use out of them and there are no signs at all of tarnishing, flaking or becoming worn out even despite one of my steels being strung with extremely heavy flatwound strings which have no give to them in the slightest. These just have the great overall quality that we've all come to expect from Dunlop.

Not just for banjo playing !! haha
Really good quality finger picks. I am currently perfecting my technique and they have really improved things as it means that I can now keep my nails short and use these instead. I have only got thin fingers so they fit perfectly and I am having lots of fun finding other uses for them too. I've found that they are great for scratching an itch, but my ultimate favourite is using them to gently tickle my girl BFF. They have her giggling like a good 'un in no time !! She says my tickling technique is 10 x better than my banjo one. Great fun !!

So thin I should have bought the heavier guage picks as these wont last me long.
The only thing wrong with these .018 picks is they are too thin. When putting them on they will always get some bending while securing them to the fingers and being so thin they wont last long before the metal cracks and the wrap round part breaks completely. I would get .022 or thicker next time. I like the picks other than the guage being thin. I like Dunlop but not sure these if these are genuinie Dunlop or copies.

Exactly right
Never used metal picks to play but these have been great, I’m getting used to the touch so I am able to play softly now, the thumb pick is taking a bit longer as I want to strum with it too , so I might have to look for an alternative.Initially I was confused about the sizing as there were conflicting and incorrect information being suggested in the question section and reviews. All the picks are the same size regardless of sizing indication. You bend and twist to fit, if you have fat fingers you open them up, if you have thin you squeeze them tighter. The sizing is to do with the finger picks only, it denotes the thickness of the metal not the finger size. A beginner would use the thinnest to start and progress to thicker to change tone or style of play. The thumb pic is the same size across the whole range of sizing. So it’s the same whether you have a thin finger pick or thick finger pick size. You can confirm this for yourself, the picture shows the reverse of the packaging which shows the thumb pick is the same size on all of them.So with that clarified , get some, pick and strum yourself to happiness.

Picks don't really deliver the "bright" sound as claimed by Jim Dunlop
The thumb/finger size (gauge) goes from small to extra large:.013MM = S.015MM = S-M.018MM = M.020MM = M-L.022MM = L.025MM = XLI ordered the default (.015MM) and by luck these fit me as I have small/medium sized hands for a man. ;)These metal picks can be squeezed or opened up to fit around smaller/larger fingers, but the plastic ones can't so you have to be careful with sizing; because of this some players have different sized picks for different fingers instead of having a set like this where all the picks are the same size. The metal ones produce a natural (classic) sound, like bare fingers, but produce a much louder sound - so ideal for acoustic instruments like banjo, pedal steel, resonator or acoustic guitar, when you want an instrument to stand out more.I tried these on my electric guitar and was rather disappointed to find they were rather awkward and no better than using my bare fingers. If you just want an electric guitar to sound louder you can adjust the amplifier gain and effects processor - no need for fingerpicks. If the plastic fingerpicks are anything like the single plactic picks then they probably produce a much brighter sound - which I would prefer.I favour the Jim Dunlop Gel picks (green / M-L) as they give me the brightest and loudest (jangly; rickenbacker-type) sound - even on my Brian May guitar. As I can already pick strings very quickly and accurately with just a single gel pick I may not use these fingerpicks after all, but it was worth a try for the price.

Brilliant for Banjo
These picks are great for banjo, you can bend them for perfect comfort, look clean and feel just like an extension of your finger making your picking accurate.

Nice product shipped quickly
Very comfortable to wear. Can be easily shaped by bending judicially. Might be a good idea to engrave or label the finger picks once you have shaped them to match your fingers.
