Great RTS/ Strategy style series
Love the world building and RTS elements in battles in this series. I also find it very interesting and cool that the MC leads and controls a hive mind swarm style race of creatures. I also greatly enjoy the side characters and feel some of them are extremely well written. My one complaint is that I would like to see the Vex themselves fighting more and getting into more battles. Other than that I really enjoy the series and look forward to the. Next book.

Great read, light on the litRPG
So I actually enjoyed this novel more than the first entry on this series, it was more focused on the overall plot rather than all the travails odds the MC. Not many litRPG elements but they are still there, nice ending too. Worth picking up.

Solid Plot and Characters
The overall plot is good in this series and the characters are interesting in general. I'm excited to see where Marcus ends up going and how much he is able to keep his humanity. One quibble is please for the love of God find some synonyms for the word smirked. Every character seems to smirk every other page sometimes. It starts to get to you after awhile.

Good read
I enjoyed this series though it was a bit odd I hope to see more books released. Especially with that ending

Great.
Still fun and funny, but now with a twist at the end that leaves me wondering what's next for Marcus and his friends.

Swarm control and creature building well done
I'm a huge fan of the themes in this book more than anything. Hive minds, flesh crafting, swarm control and strategy are all present and well done. I skipped ahead anytime the perspective changed, so I can't comment on that. I've always hated that, but it's such a common literary device that I've learned to ignore it.

Simplistic
A good read but it is over to soon and is not very deep. It must be said however that there is some very interested ideas at play in this story.

Smirk
Bought the books, read the first one, reading the second. Decent enough for what they are but I have become sufficiently irritated to pause in my reading to come post this-The author has discovered a favorite word and uses it. A lot. A LOT. Oh my god, such a lot. And that word is "smirk". There are other words in the English language and the author would very much benefit from trying some of them out from time to time. But even more than this, and which would in itself solve much of the problem, the author would benefit considerably if THEY BOTHERED TO ACTUALLY LOOK UP THE MEANING OF THE WORD FIRST. It is not just another word for "smile". It has specific connotations and the author uses it in wildly inappropriate situations, apparently only using it correctly occasionally by random chance. Seriously, no word of exaggeration, at least two-thirds of the usage of the word are inappropriate for the context in which theyre used.Seriously, the books are mostly ok for what they are, and indeed are getting better as the story goes along after a fairly flimsy first several chapters in book 1, but the overuse and misuse of the word "smirk" is driving me insane and I'm deducting a star for that all by itself. Yeesh.

I didn't know what to expect in book 2 but I was pleasantly surprised. I Can't wait for next book.

Disappointing after the first
It was... fine I suppose. But there were far too many chapters from the POV of the "baddies" and it was just painful to read. I had absolutely no interest in their pathetic thoughts or justifications. They were horrible people and seeing their POV added nothing to the book.I started skimming them fairly early on, the book would have in fact been better if besides all but one or two of their chapters were removed. As it only took that long to realise how worthless they were as people and for one to hate them.
