Guitar Praise By Digital Praise - PC/Mac

I was really excited to get this game for my 12 year old daughter who goes ape nuts for Rock band 2. I thought, a solid Christian alternative would be great. This is a great alternative, however, it is not as addictive as Rock band (RB) or Guitar hero (GH). It does show the lyrics on the screen so you can sing along, which is better then RB or GH. The main issue is that the guitar play is the mirror image of RB and GH. In RB and GH, you hear a guitar sound if you press the button and strum at the correct time. In GP, it is the opposite, you hear the original music playing with no discernable guitar notes tracked over them unless you strum at the wrong time and then you hear a muffled clank. So long as you are playing without missing notes, it sounds just like the original song without any user additions or input. Its only when you miss that you notice you are actually involved in the song. The song selections are great, I just hope GP2 is more in line with how RB and GH play. It would be a much more enjoyable and addicting experience.

My game arrived in perfect condition, was easy to install. It only took about 2 mins. and then we put the batteries in the guitar, which is wireless so you are not hooked to the computer. We then plugged in the USB cord that allows you to be wireless and began to play. The levels start out really easy that even young kids could play. Also no cuss words and ugly scenes, so you aren't afraid of what your kid might be hearing. I would buy this product again if something happened to the one we have and I would recommend this to someone, instead of Guitar Hero due to the bad language and booing which does not happen in the Christian version.

My son loves playing guitar hero! He is 8 and we had quite a few guitar hero games. After feeling the Lord convict us of letting our son drilling secular lyrics into his head and enjoying it, we just couldn't let him play guitar hero anymore! So we made him a deal, we traded in our guitar hero games for some different games that weren't so worldly and then we bought him Guitar Praise for Hanukkah. He was so tickled that he could praise and worship AND play his favorite guitar game! He loves rocking out and singing about Jesus so it is win win. He has never complained about missing the old games since he got Guitar Praise. It has proven to be a fantastic alternative for our family!

Look, I don't expect that Digital Praise expected out of the gate to be at the Guitar Hero level. Give the guys a break. For a first release product this unit is incredible. For what its purposed for, getting some Christian Music in the gaming world it is spot on. The songs they picked are excellent, i'm very impressed. Its alright that the graphics are not "blow you out of the chair" quality.The Quality is in the music and the game play and the fun you can have with your kids without worrying about them hearing about immoral innuendos time and time again.Can't wait for the Rock Band Clone :D

I couldn't use on my wondows 10 pc

The cd did not work and there is no where to get a replacement. So darn annoying!

When I saw that there was a Guitar Hero/Rock Band alternative specifically for Christian music, I was thrilled and relieved. My boys love those games, but some of the content does not abide by our family's morals and ethics. So while the game is ....good, I do notice the lack of polish when it comes to the quality of the user interface and overall presentation. But my biggest issue is the omission of one of the most influential Christian bands out there:Faith + 1Perhaps it's a copyright issue, but I think the rights should've been secured for such staples as "Body of Christ", "Savior Self" & "I Wasn't Born Again Yesterday"Maybe if enough people purchase this, then the capital will be there for them to ensure they're included in the next release. We can only pray, right?

I thought I'd throw in a notice to anyone who is expecting the black and white Guitar Praise guitar controller to be about the same size as a regular guitar, based on the pictures on the game packaging. It is not. When I received the game (from another online source - no reflection on Amazon), I was struck by how small the game package was. When I opened it up, it seemed the guitar controller was sized for a five year old! For your reference, Rock Band controllers are definitely larger and more comfortable for someone who is fully grown. I have been looking for a Christian alternative to the Rock Band game, and I had hoped to find it with this. However, the size of the controller was a real issue, along with the fact that my package did NOT include the wireless adapter needed to hook it up to my computer. I was sad to have to send it back. It might be good for a younger child, but anyone older and taller than that may find their enjoyment of the game hindered. The 3 Star Overall Rating is given as "average" because I could not play game itself, and I can't give a fair review of something I couldn't try firsthand. How much fun is this game? I wish I knew. :P
