These shears cut to the chase
These pruning shears have saved us a lot of time and paid for themselves already. We do tree work-fuel-reduction. These shears are perfect for lower limb pruning. Lower limb pruning reduces the "fire ladder”. If a fire comes through there are fewer low branches to ignite the rest of the tree. Battery life of the shears is impressive and so is the power.A few things to note: Use a bright felt pen to mark just before the final “snap” on the extension pole. Advance slowly nearing the final extension point. Also, I may have gotten carried away with lubricating. Whenever applying lubrication, afterwords, point the shears down to minimize oil dripping into the inside of the shears electronics. The lubricant provided by Swansoft is thick and likely lacking solvent like compounds that may damage some of the inside components.Keep fingers etc. away from the BLADE! Remove Battery before servicing! I use the pole attachment exclusively because sometimes in thick brush and foliage its easy to accidentally get shears too close to fingers. These are powerful! My personal experience with customer support was excellent. Needed a few spare parts. Communication and action was prompt. Shipping from China economy rate is not prompt. Expedited shipping is an option and much faster but costly.Although the shears seemed expensive at first when you think about how much time and fatigue are spared, these are one of the best tools I've ever used for semi professional tree work. Thank You Swansoft,

The best tool ever!
I asked my arborist what the name of this tool was after watching him use it. I ordered it right away. I cannot express enough how perfect this tool is for me, a 73 year old woman who loves to work in the yard, but is increasingly finding it hard to handle heavy tools or tools that need a lot of pressure to operate. This tool is amazing. It easily cuts through branches 1.5” thick, is lightweight and it’s very easy to squeeze the trigger. I’ve used it for a couple of hours now and the indicator says the battery still has more than half its charge. If I could give it ten stars, I would.

I love this tool!
I don't just like this tool I LOVE it. My brother showed me his battery pruner a couple of years ago, but his is over three pounds and a few hundred dollars so I researched it some but couldn't decide. I had a fall and injured my hand and I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy and electric pruner. I finally researched the many products and chose this one.I wanted one under or close to 2lbs. (this one is 2.1 lbs with the battery.)I wanted one with two batteries. This one has that and you can charge both at the same time.I wanted a battery that holds a charge. This one lasts. I haven't timed it but I've done a lot of pruning and each has only been charged once.I wanted one with the ability to cut branches up to 1.5 inches. This tool is amazing. I pruned a Japanese maple yesterday and it easily cut branches slightly over 1 inches.I wanted bypass cutters instead of anvil type and so the maple branches were cleanly cut right up to the large branch.I wanted a telescoping extension rather than a fixed length one. This morning I extended it to the 7 foot lenght, reached as far as I could (I'm 6'2") into a dogwood tree and cut a branch slightly over an inch that was hanging over our shed. With a light flick of my finger, zip and the branch was on the ground. In the past I would have needed a ladder and a saw.I would have loved this tool even before I developed problems with my hand. It really speeds up my annual pruning work. It is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I buy a lot of products from Amazon and this is the first time I have written a review. (I wrote one scathing review for a lousy product.) I held off writing for a month but this is so good I wanted other gardeners to know.

A great tool for repetitive limb pruning!
This tool was purchased last June primarily for winter pruning. I normally don’t review purchases unless they are very good or very bad. This pruner tested out okay when received, the batteries were charged and it was put away until this week. I feel like this tool now has been tested in a reasonably demanding situation. I have 14 mature semi-dwarf fruit trees (peach, prune, apple and pear) and I just finished this year’s pruning with this hand held battery operated pruner. Based on that experience, I am extremely pleased with the purchase. When I began working this week (January), I did not attempt to further charge the batteries. I used the first battery until it quit working and then switched to the second. I unplugged the battery from the tool when it was left sitting overnight. I learned that the tool beeps to tell you it is shutting off when the battery dies. The second battery quit when I was finishing the 14th tree. I had to finish the job with 5 cuts with a hand operated tool. 14 trees may not sound like a lot, but pruning fruit trees is a job of a thousand cuts (or many more). Pruning the limbs, including loading them on a trailer took 7 hours this year. Each limb cut ranges from 1/4” to 1-1/2” and they probably average 3/4”. There are literally hundreds of limbs cut per tree and this pruner worked flawlessly. The ability to vary the jaw opening helped speed the process. I primarily used the smaller opening. This tool never hesitated with even the largest branch.I purchased this tool because arthritis in my hands and shoulder makes it difficult to use either a single hand or two hand pruner. This tool is light enough that it never bothered my wrist, although overhead work still made my shoulder sore. It was easy to use with either hand. However, the weight of the tool was never bothersome enough to make me have to stop. Finally, this tool was small enough to allow working in small areas getting to small branches to cut.I have no clue yet as to this tool’s longevity, but it certainly met my expectations with this first demanding use. The batteries do not recharge particularly quickly, but with two and the demonstrated work life of one, I have no concerns about running out of power in the middle of a job. Even if the tool only lasts a couple of years, it was well worth the price based on my experience.
