Make sure it works before you give it as a gift
Works great! My grandson loves it! However, the first one did not work!!! I contacted the seller directly and they sent me a new one right away. I didn’t have to return it to Amazon and order another one. Seller made it right!!

Bug Catching Goodtime!
Our kids love to study nature, but the bugs can be fast! With this the kids are faster! They love to suck up bugs, study with the magnify glass on the jar and then release whatever little critter they found! Also works great on those pesky spiders, I like them, I just don't want to live with them! Sucked up and relocate outside with this handy tool!

purchased for my 4yr old nephew. he seems pleased . although the suction could be better. over all if you have a little critter curious fellow like myself, it’s a great find.

Could be great . . . if it doesn't break
I got this for my son who is 3 years old, right up his alley - Bugs! check, Vacuum! check, Toy Gun! check, comes with nice fun packaging as well. Took this out of the box and he pulled the trigger and immediately ran around looking for bugs to suck up. He was very excited, so the concept is great. The first gun, yes the 1st one, lasted less then 2 minutes before the vacuum stayed on even when the trigger wasn't being pulled. I had to remove the battery to get it to shut off. Then when I plugged the battery back in, it wouldn't turn on again. I charged the battery thinking maybe it died, didn't help.I exchanged the first one, which was quick and easy. Again, my son got really excited when the second one came and we opened it up. This one lasted maybe 1 minute before it just stopped working. I was there watching the whole time, no dropping, no banging, no throwing, no abuse to the gun at all. It just stopped working. I took out the battery and charged it thinking that it had to be a dead battery. Plugged it back in and it didn't work. Not sure if this is a battery issue or an issue with the motor for the vacuum inside the gun. Regardless, I had two of these and neither one lasted more than 2 minutes. Could be that I was extremely unlucky and got two defective units but honestly with how excited my son was to get it and then how upset he was when two of these broke, it wasn't worth seeing if the 3rd time would be the charm.Great concept, great packaging, looks good and my toddlers really wanted to play with it. If only it actually worked.

The Terra Squad Buzz HoverI got this not as a toy, but to help relocate mainly spiders. But I have to say I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't have very much vacuum power. So you'll have to be quick to use it because the vacuum isn't going to do much to suck it in unless you are on top of it holding it there. So I think it's a little weak, but it does work. Or it could just be my unit just doesn't seal as good, so it's vacuum is weaker???The first bug I caught was a medium-small size spider. The suction was kind of weak. It had a hard time getting him in. I had to hold the trigger for awhile to get him in. But once in, I closed the valve, and set it aside for a bit. I came back about five mins. later and he was gone. I had made sure he was secure before I left, but forgot about the vent holes. Now I have to find him again... Lesson learned, don't leave it laying around if it has small insects etc, they will get out the vent holes.I will say that for small children it will make a great toy. It has a good booklet that comes along with it that tells what critters are safer to touch, and not. I suspect, that at least for the boys, the "Buzz Hover" is going to be used more as a ray gun in imaginary role playing. Which is fine, I think it makes a fine ray gun, voom voom (instead of zap zap).Although for small children, and children in general, the handle is awkwardly square and large. But I don't think the kids will even notice for the most part. They'll be too busy sucking up bugs, or zapping each other in some pretend game (it flashes light too). But just be aware of the handle size. FYI, it measures...complex. It's kind of trapezoidal in shape. So, at the small end: approx. 1.5" x 1.5"; at bottom end: 2" x 1.5".

It works!
My insect-loving child is obsessed with this hug vacuum! The suction is VERY light, just barely enough to gently pull in a bug without too much harm. The little contraption to drop the bugs into the attached cup is pretty smart. I wondered if this would actually work and I’m happy to report it does. My only complaint is the motor is rather LOUD! Sounds a little rickety like an old handheld vacuum. So it’s loud and I wonder how helpful that is for bug catching. Luckily it didn’t deter my son!

Fun & Unique Bug-Catcher Toy
My little brother loves catching and observing bugs! He has nets and tweezers and whatnot, but they don't always work the best with those fast little critters. This bug vacuum is a super fun and unique toy that duals as an educational tool (the best kind of toys, if you ask me!), and he's loved using it! It lights up and includes a magnifying lens, plus the removeable containers make it easy to study the bugs you catch. We did have some struggles in getting it to work (battery problems), but we got it fixed and it's worked well ever since!
