Economical Dual RCD - Terminals very narrow though
I purchased 3 of theseThe finished job with these fitted to a dual socket backplate looks great and the rcd feature means not having to add a plug in unit to standard sockets every-time you want added protection from electric shock.I can now confirm mine have reacted perfectly to a spill on an extension that was connected to one of these double sockets, with an immediate power off and each additional unit on the same circuit also switched off in different rooms because they detected the current leak to earth, even on the incoming feed. This happened so fast,no fire nor shock was experienced, so safety wise very good in this respect.HOWEVER be really careful while installing these!Live and Neutral terminals are REVERSED at the rear terminal entry points(if you compare them to a UK standard double sockets rear terminal arrangement) and every terminal including the earth is smaller -- so I had to snip doubled over domestic, recently installed mains cable as it wouldn't fit the live or neutral terminals on these units without becoming ungrippable and constantly falling out...If you accidently unscrew live or neutral terminals too far (so as to make termination holes wider) the cable gripping screws will fall inside the unit and full disassembly is then the only way to get them back (with torx screwdrivers)Worth the asking price, but not quite perfect because of the narrower terminals and switched round polarity, which could lead to mistakes if these were installed in a rushed fashion.

Very poor design
I totally agree with other reviewers. Cheap, but very poorly designed. It is difficult, almost impossible, to get 2 wires plus insulation into the entry holes and then the wire clamp is also rather small if you do manage to push the wires in place. Perhaps somebody sent the designers 1 mm2 wire??Also the use of 3 prong tamper screws on the plastic casing makes life difficult if you manage to loosen the wire clamp screws so that they fall inside the plastic casing - which again is very easy to do.The ideal place for this device is on a single cable spur.

Functional item
Awful connector design on the back of the socket making it difficult to tighten (or loosen) the connectors during installation. Further, when assembled, the wires project directly from the back of the assembly meaning there is unnecessary stress placed on the wires because they must be bent over at 90 degrees to allow the socket to be placed into anything excepting an extra deep box. Weird design - do these guys ever do an installation with their inventions?Otherwise no problems and this is a reasonable price and when fitted a simple attractive design that does not look 'too out of place' in a domestic environment.

RCD Socket
Very fiddly to wire in as the holes for the wires are small with clamps which do not open up fully.

2 Gang RCD
RCD switches a little on the small size but the main thing is it works and it does its job

Not good quality
As soon as it was installed the little red light in the middle faded away, making it hard to tell if it was on or not. At the time I made an enquiry about the fault, and was indecisive to send it back or not. I opted to keep it under the belive that if it was only the little red light not working, but everything else was ok, I didn't have to incurr in the triple spend to have it fitted, unfitted and fit it back. Wish I had sent it back. Now few months down the line, one of the switches decided to stop working, it is not a loose wiring, it is the design, some small plastic must have broken off, it is not even repairable.
