Pretty good read!!
I mostly enjoyed reading this book. I did get the horror part of it and extremely enjoyed the paranormal, psychic, and medium parts. There were some parts that were a little hard to follow and I agree certain word choices could have been better, for me, using big words as fillers didn't exactly make it easier to comprehend. I really feel like this would make a great movie, which makes sense being that's how it started off in creation. The only thing I didn't like was I felt that the story could have been made shorter; had not so many filler words been used, like I still don't completely understand all the details but I understand the gyst of the story. Guy is traumatized by something he did as a child and it caused him to turn into a different person in his adult life. All his actions eventually led him to face and deal with his past. I don't get what part the affair had to play being it didn't make a difference or really have anything to do with anything other than making him look like a suspect. All in all a very good read. I'm a fan of Stephen King and Dean Koontz and I'd say this was pretty much on that level thrill wise.. good work!!

Intense!
Dan is very good at what he does. He is fluent in knowing paintings inside and out and for the past ten years has excelled at becoming a professor and raising a family with his wife Linda.Dan also has a past involving an accident that left him with paralysing migraines. At first things seem to be going really well...until the Painting arrived. A very unusual and disturbing Painting. One that Dan can't help but want to solve everything about it. But will solving this mystery be beneficial to him or will it cause him to possibly lose everything including his own sanity? This was amazing! Many twists and turns that always left me with what's coming next. A great Roller Coaster for the mind.Read this guy before and really enjoy his style that's easy to read as well as the stories he tells. Highly recommend!!

Review for Forsaken
OMGosh! Could NOT put it down. Would love to have a hardcopy. This was, by leaps and bounds, one of the best horror stories I've ever read, whips Steven King's books, and THE best book I've read in a year at least. In the right hands would be a great movie. I was completely drawn in. Thanks for a wonderfully horrific, scary, thrilling ride.

A wonderful beautiful read
I loved this book and I bore easy. My favorite line was at the end when the author said he was not a likable character the professor. Are you kidding me he was beautiful he was real. He's having a mid life crisses and living with guilt. He was real. There's clues in the novel I missed I wanted to miss it honestly. I'm just confused on one thing did he kill Karina or not. The ending is satisfied. I love professor but he had to pay the piper ..it still hurts though..the guilt hurts but you where his God ..omg professor how could you???

okay read
I felt this was a bit predictable and the lead was just unlikable. It did not help that I had figured out the twist early on.

Forsaken - a masterpiece of horror
FORSAKEN is a masterpiece of psychological horror. This book is not about jump scares, but a very intricate telling of a tale of brothers, families, betrayal, and the search for happiness and success. As a professor of art, along with his students, he endeavors to restore priceless works of art that have suffered over time. But something is wrong. It's like a tinnitus. You become aware of it when you least expect it. In this story, it is - the glass. Author Andrew Van Wey pulls you into the lives and the world of the characters, all seemingly normal until an anonymous painting shows up at the art department where the professor works. It becomes his project. His obsession.I loved this book. I look forward to additional writing by this author.I also recommend the companion audio book performed by Tom Jordan.

4 Stars - A Solid Read
An enjoyable read. It pulled me in and kept my interest. I thought the writing and tension building was good. The ending was a tad predictable. But as a whole, i think it was a solid read!I liked it enough to grab his newer novel on kindle - Head Like A Hole. I began it last night and im liking it so far!* I read this a while back, just finally getting around to leaving a review.

Wow!
I felt that this book was quite slow starting and I came very close to giving it up to move onto something else. Well, am I ever glad that I pushed through for a few more pages because what followed more than made up for the slow start. This is an awesome work of art (this play on words will make sense if you decide to read the book). The twists and turns don't stop right to the very end. Just when you think you've figured it all out, Van Wey throws another curve ball and you can't resist reading on. I stayed awake the whole night reading this because I couldn't bring myself to stop.Do yourself a favour and read this book, but make sure you've got a clear schedule for a couple of days because you're unlikely to get much else done. Thanks, Van Wey, for a great read. I'm now off to amazon to choose your next book, right after I get a couple of hours sleep. π

WOW!
WOW!I loved this book...what a page turner!when I read the blurb I was nervous to read it, thought I would be reading from behind the sofa with my hands over my eyes! lol but it wasn't soooo bad!still quite chilling and gruesome in places though and really got your brain turning those cogs. I had in inkling of the twist about half way through but wasn't 100% til it happened right at the end so that proves it was well written. tbh I'm still not 100% sure if everything really happened or whether he was just derranged??Well worth a read, a long one but I have it read in 2 or 3 days!I wuld definately look out for this author again!

Positively sick but good
Oh wow, this book is probablythe sickest titlle Iβve read this year bbut good and welll twisted. I think Isor of guessed some of it but well, I really liked it. A few less βsaidsβ might have improved it but not by much. if you like your horror good and twisted then try this. itβs sick as hell but good.

Riveting reading.
I was drawn into this story almost from the first page. It was intriguing and I just had to find out what would happen at the end. It was a well written fantastical horror story which was so far-fetched that it was almost magical. I loved the way this story flowed and left you wondering what could possibly happen next. This is one of the best free books I have read in a long time and I will look out for more of the same by this writer.

Exactly What the Strap-line says it iis!
I enjoyed this enormously, even though I worked out by about half-way through what the 'twist' was going to be. The characters are believable - believable enough for this sort of fantasy, at any rate. In some ways, it reminded me of early James Herbert books and, if you enjoy a fast-moving gothic horror story then this is for you.
