Kungfu Tea Sets Chinese/Japanese Portable Travel Tea Set Bamboo Tea Tray Tea Mat Handmade Chinese Traditional Ceramics 1 Set

I thought this would be a great starter set to explore gung fu style tea brewing. I love it for that purpose, but with a few reservations.The pros are great. The items are thoughtfully and carefully packaged. The carrying case is wonderful! The teapot looks well crafted, and pours beautifully. The set includes every component you need to start brewing gung fu, except the teaCons- some items are inferior quality. The gem on the lid is tacky, not pretty. The tongs and towel are low quality. The cups are very small, even for gung fu. Barely a single mouthful. The reason I gave it four stars, though, is the weird chemical smell the set has. It makes me nervous about what they used to glaze the items. The glaze is a bumpy/shiny stuff that I’m nervous might contain lead or some other nefarious chemical.

As a set, this is very good for portable gong fu tea. The carrying case keeps things secure, even when I have it on my bicycle. The tongs had a split in them that required fixing before they could be used, but overall the entire design is practical and lovely. Be aware however that gong fu tea sets are designed to brew small amounts of tea (around 200mL) and aren’t large. Also, as the teapots used in gong fu are usually unglazed, you only use one type of tea in them. Of course, this gives you a great reason to buy multiple pots!My only true gripe was with the teapot itself. It was glazed (roughly) on the outside, had a weird cloisonné bead on the lid, and just didn’t fit my aesthetic for a gong fu tea set. I ended up switching it out for a simple Yixing pot I had and am much happier.

This is a really great set.I just unpackaged this set yesterday and noticed that one of the cups has a big gash taken out of it and the serving pitcher has a noticeable chip in it.However, it is very convenient for traveling with, I just wish that it was intact.UPDATE: I was contacted after writing this review if I would like to have new pieces sent to me to replace the ones that were damaged, I said that would be great. However, instead of asking me what pieces were damaged, they assumed and sent me two cups instead of a cup and a serving pitcher. I still like the set, however I am very disappointed with the damage to the products.UPDATE: Seller goes above and beyond to remedy the issue. Offered to send new piece to replace damaged serving cup.

They are definitely smaller than I thought will be refilling a lot. That is not a second tray (disappointed) in picture its just a towel on closer inspection. Hopefully with some high quality tea in the little pot and cups won't need so much refilling.

Very lovely but with some imperfections that sucks but I can live with it.This is the clay type of pots and cups you must use always with the same type of tea and never wash with soap. You have to rince it with water only. The seller did not put any instructions in the box so beware about the risk of ruining it with soap and the use different types of teas!!!!Despite the cons, I love it. It's the traditional size for tea ceremony or gong fu cha style. It's rarely offered in travel kits.

Before I received this set of tea pot/cups, I was worried what the real quality would it be. This is a really pretty and nice tea set. I have been a traditional, old fashion Chinese tea drinker since I was a kid. I LOVE what I have bought. I really enjoy using this new tea set for making my tea.

It is just as described and I am happy with it despite its small size because i plan to travel with it wherever I go now :)The Teapot actually have some straining function in built as long as the tea leaves are not too small. I would recommend it!

I haven't used it yet because we are in the middle of moving but it's a beautiful set, very sturdy, can't wait to try it.
