Love, love, love
Okay I’m kinda lowkey obsessed with this one?I relate a lot to Noel and I think that’s part of why I liked this one so much. She is intelligent, bookish, and a bit hurt by past experiences. But she was also funny and strong and took it all in stride. And I loved Colby. He was so funny and flirty but also sweet and genuine. And *small spoiler* but can we talk about the library?? *swoon*I just loved how Colby thought about and talked to Noel and how evident it was that he adores her. Ugh. So cute! And like I said before, I may need to start watching hockey? Undecided at this point hahaha. There was definitely a bit of language, some innuendo, and a fade to black scene. But nothing too crazy.

soft and sugary and lovely
Very sweet closed door with just enough spicy fun times; nothing explicit, super fun, happy ending; some plot devices you see coming, but that’s ok, and I liked that the 3rd act breakup was combated with actual adult conversations & emotional intelligence, not just for the sake of drama.

sweet
This book was so sweet and so vanilla, loved the story line of Colby and Noel. I’d definitely give it 1 🌶️ rating though.

Really cute He falls hard first/enemies to lovers
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️What I loved:- enemies to lovers- Dating lessons- He falls first- The hockey teammates 😜- Game plans 😉- He’s so patient with her- Intelligent, bookish FMC- Golden Retriever MMC- Flirty, fun chemistry- They push each others buttons- He reads her favorite books 😍- Loving, dorky parents- Funny, meddling grandma⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is my second book by Leah Brunner and I love her style. Sometimes it’s hard to believe a hockey story, or any story for that matter, where the men don’t have an edge or act like men. Leah’s stories seem much more believable to me, as hockey and wholesome generally aren’t thrown together. Yet somehow, Leah gives all the male characters an edge, while making them lovable and believable.I really enjoyed reading Colby & Noel’s story. Sometimes we need friends to push us, as we are blind to our situation or they give us the confidence to do what we need to. The hockey guys have Colby’s back in a such a wholesome but dude way 😂🥹 The girls are perfect at “hair petting” and giving swift kicks when needed 😉I love that Colby fights tooth and nail for what he wants. He tries with every action to prove just how much Noel means, even when she is so oblivious. 🥹 He truly spoils her and tries to take care of every need. He strives throughout the whole book to make sure she’s seen 😭😍 Once she finally sees all his efforts, it’s enough to make you cry. They come together so beautifully as a team 🥲 and I love to see it.p.s. I am SO EXCITED for Remy’s book 😍 it sounded amazing before I read any of the series. But now he’s one of my favorites on the team and I’m DYING to read his book. This is a closed-door romance. There is making out, innuendo, and one fade to black scene. There is some cursing in the book.Songs: “Sink In” by Jake Scott, “Energy” by Carly Bannister, “I think I’m gonna love you” by Michal Leah & Caleb Hearn, “Twice” by Jake Scott, “Pointless” by Lewis Capaldi, “Back To Life” by Rascal Flatts, “Red” by Taylor Swift, “When She Says Baby” by Jason Aldean, “I’m Fakin” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Lovesick” by Jenna Raine, “Good Girl” by Dustin Lynch, “Rumor” by Lee Brice

I freaking love this book
I love Leah Brunner’s stories because they are just so much fun to read. The tension, witty comebacks, and lack of explicit content is such a huge win for me. I would say enemies to lovers is a bit of a stretch because they aren’t trying to kill each other…maybe it would be more like playing hard to get. He definitely falls first and falls hard.I love that there isn’t a third act breakup. Is there tension and a little drama? Absolutely. Feelings of doubt and insecurity? Totally. If you do want to label that a breakup then it’s very short lived.A college history professor with a love for Lord of the Rings and a slightly arrogant and flirty NHL player…this was so good. Loved it and I can’t wait for the next in the “series” (the series is a bunch of interconnected stand alone novels so they share characters but you don’t have to necessarily read them in order).

History nerd for the win!!
"Why would you want to get the attention of a guy who’s stupid enough not to notice you to begin with?”How much do I love Colby and Noel?! I love that she's a history nerd and just owns it! Colby is our cinnamon roll that hides behind jokes! They're just so perfect together!!"Spending a life with one woman isn’t boring, it’s poignant. It’s like making it to the NHL, you work impossibly hard for it, and then strive to keep it. You focus every day on that one thing, put all your best effort in. I want that kind of relationship. I’m ready for it."Leah's writing is just so strong! I love the banter and hilarious shenanigans that ensue!! Such a fun read! I read it all in one sitting and couldn't wait to jump into the next one!!

A Perfectly Sweet Hockey Romance
This book delivers everything it promises to: a sweet hockey romance without anything more explicit than a kiss. I didn’t feel it was any worse for the lack of spice. The love story was still poignant and heartwarming. I look forward to the next book in the series.

great read
Colby ah colby..a dream of a character and what a 180 turnaround from his presence in the first book. Felt this his character just took off from the start whereas Noel seemed to be stuck a fair amount of time with her past. A real great story and loved supporting characters especially Gram. Looking forward to the next one.

Hard work
When both parties have a history, it needs a bit more work to proceed to a smoth relationship. Only with the right motivation, a game plan and some sidekicks.
