If you're looking for a place to write your private thoughts without anyone else reading what you wrote, this is NOT the journal for you. While it's a nice quality notebook, both the front and back covers are made of a very soft bendable material. Simply pull back either the front or back cover and you can easily read everything written on any given page. Completely defeats the purpose of having the lock. If the covers were made of a harder material I would have given this item 5 stars.

Overall love this beautiful journal but I am disappointed because the picture is misleading. The orange color is darker in person and the design isn’t a shiny blue instead it’s black. Book is great and all, I love the combo lock that is on it but the cover of the book is soft and flexible and if you want to keep what you write in the journal private isn't going to happen since someone can simply peel the cover back and read whatever you wrote.

I really love this journal. It comes in a nice gift box, the leather is smoothe, it looks to be very well made , I love the design on the front. I like that it locks and it has a slot for a pan and the book on the inside is removable so the outside binder can be refilled with another book. Rhis is well worth the money.

Quality of material

I can’t get this thing to open for the life of me. I’ve tried everything, I’ve had it for weeks and still can’t get it. The only reason I ordered it was because of the lock, and I can’t even use it because of that. Good idea. Terrible design.

My favorite journal ...I need another so am patiently waiting for the availability of this item...love love love!!!

So soft to touch leather and my grandson loves it. He also likes the attached lock so he doesn’t have to worry about loosing the key.
